Whenever i open the game, maybe in 5 minutes, or 20, but the game freezes for 2 seconds, then closes and i get an error called Fenris that says “The application has detected an unexpected error”. I don´t know what is causing this to close, checked drivers, updated them, allowed d4 in windows firewall…
I have the exakt same problem
yeah me too, seems to happen mostly in dungeons . Do you guys have Nvidia Cards if so which model ?
same problem here … with rtx 4070 ti
“The application has detected an unexpected error” killing game sometimes after 1 min sometimes after 15 min most of the time when enter dungeons. At this moment game its unplayable for me reach level 11 on one char for whole day . Got GTX 980 Ti. Downloaded new drivers , reinstalled geame etc. Nothing helped.
same exact issue, 4090.
wonder if it comes from being on windows 11 any of you can confirm?
Also had it happen a few times in the last D3 season too.
This is so annoying it’s happening to me as well, I have done all the above, uninstall, and update drivers. set all my graphics to low, and still crashes whenever I am in a dungeon. I am running windows 10 so I don’t this is a windows issue. I have a 2080ti.
Same problem here, i have EVGA 1080 TI, i check drivers, reinstall the game, repair, disable antivirus, nothing work. The error kill the game after 10 min or 5 or less, most ot the time when enter dungeons, and sometimes when i explore the world.
Same thing. 3080. I’ve opened a support ticket but have heard nothing at all and it appears there is no response from anyone at blizzard here either. if this continues, i will be requesting a refund.
I’m getting the same error constantly during any dungeon boss fights. Rtx 4090 with latest drivers. The game is literally unplayable for me in its current state. I tried 4 times to beat lilith’s lament but it crashes every time 20-30 seconds into the fight.
Reducing the texture quality from high to medium helped me reduce the frequency on how often this error occurs
Same with me. unplayable.
Last weekend worked fine on my older laptop with 6th gen i7 and 970 GTX. The laptop has a 4k display and we had set the in game resolution down to 2048x1152 for better performance. Switching between Windows desktop and the game would cause the Fenris error. I was able to test and generate the error by doing an alt tab.
I tried repair, reinstall, verified all drivers up-to-date, cleared battle.net cache, set windows resolution to 2048x1152. None of that worked.
I found the Fenris error log in the “C:\programdata\diablo iv” folder and found the cause to be something to the effect of “Fullscreen mode switch failed”.
Decided to locate the file that game settings are stored in “C:\users\user\documents\diablo iv”. Copy the fine for a backup. Resolution settings matched what I had set windows to. There way a Fullscreen mode that was set to 2, I changed this to 2 and opened the game, did an alt tab. No error so far. The game was generating the error on it’s own after getting through the queue to the character select screen.
So I’m now sitting here waiting for the queue and typing this up on my phone so apologies for the terrible grammar and system paths. I’ll try to fix later if I can
FIX: i had the same problem, after trying hundreds of solutions i finally fixed it, what’s making the game crash is the adaptive sync on one of your monitors, you need to put it off on your monitor’s settings
EDIT: mova back your hz from 144 to 60 in your windows options after that
didn’t fix it for me, still getting crashes with this.
Been getting the same errors also, can sometimes get an hour max or at worst 10 minutes of gameplay and then a fenris error, AMD rx 6750xt gpu
after that you have to move back the hz of your monitor in windows options from 144 to 60hz, thats all i did, i used to crash every 5 minutes in dungeon, now i have more than 10 hours of gameplay without crashes
I have exactly same issue with i7-7700k with 1080ti. Can anybody have solution?
Same problem AMD RX590, CPU AMD Ryzen 5 1600.
In the FenrisDebug.txt file, it shows the following:
