Fenris error, crash upon crash for days

Same Fenris error, I tried so many things that even reach level 90 lol , nothing helps, I tried all forums, youtube, google etc all of them starting from run as administrator up to writing new windows, driver settings, DLSS performance mode and so on and so on … As looking overall looks like there is critical issue where the Blizzard should be go straight to get this sorted before doing anything else, contacting Microsoft, Intel, Nvidia and rest of the part suppliers to make it work and this is urgent issue without questioning looking in overall how many people struggling with this issue. Just in case my pc setup below so there is no cry that game is to hard to handle it. Yes maybe its some not game related item more drivers or windows, however the money what you asking for the game you should be working without questioning. Hope you will sort this out quick instead of uploading new skins. P.S. Most of the crashing happens when you in town trying to teleport . Thank You

I’m in the same situation as you. I have a 1080ti, and I changed the graphics card and replaced it with a GTX 660 that I had in the closet for years, and the game hasn’t crashed even once. I believe that the 1080ti is fine because it doesn’t fail with any other game.
I’d like to clarify that I have tried absolutely all possible solutions that appear on the internet, all of them. I have even opened 3 support tickets, and this is the only thing that has worked for me.
There must be some solution, perhaps by modifying something in the Nvidia Control Panel. The only thing I have left is that if I want to keep playing, I have to play with everything on low settings using a GPU from 2012.

I also started to have this error 2 days ago. The only thing I had changed was that I unplugged my 3.5mm headphones and started using my bluetooth speakers. When I did that I started to get the Fenris error. I just unplugged my speakers and plugged my headset back in and have been able to play for over an hour now with no crashes. Before it would crash in less than a minute when I logged in.

19 days since topic was opened, no fix in reach it seems.
What is the next step? Requesting refund?

Give my solution a try, hope it helps you out - I have had no crashes, just done a 9 hour gaming session no crash: DX12 Fenris error - #34 by OhMyGod-21230

Can confirm this absolutly worked! Thank you so so so much!

Seems like my PC is “to fast” for diablo 4 so it out runs itself and crashes. It’s a memory related issue. I did build this PC 3 weeks before release. Problems started after the patch on the 14th. couldnt play longer than 30 min before the first crash, after that it happened like every 5 min. Totally unplayable.

Any updates on the Fenris error randomly happening??
For me at the moment any “endgame” content it’s totally unplayable because the game kicks me out every time i tried a world boss, or invasion of any type.
Even completing dungeons it’s impossible if i’m not in a friends group (because if the Fenris unexpected error happens atleast i can teleport back to my friends in the dungeon)
I tried every solution i come across in this conversation and others but nothing seems to work.
Please Blizzard atleast asnwer so i can know if i better uninstall and forget about the game or the patience will be rewarded and this bug will be fixed.

Update: Last Patch ( 1.0.3a Build #42936 (PC)) didn’t fix anything for me.
Update 2: Last Patch ( 1.0.4 Build #42936 (PC)) didn’t fix anything for me.
Updare 3: Last Patch (1.1.0A Build #43333 (PC)) didn’t fix anything for me.

Fenris’es:

Local prefs:

Problem stared only after 27.06.2023 update. Before was fine.

not worked for me :(((

I solved by installing this version of the driver Nvidia 531.79

checked now. it didn’t help me…

same for me bro - crashing from it’s very start. :frowning: Interesting fact is, beta was perfectly stable version for me… And they telling me, my pc is the problem. pfff

Got the same problem, the Beta was perfectly stable for me but got fenris error since launch.

I am still seeing the same issue everyone pointed out above. Today it has been worse, lucky to get through 10-20 minute time frame before crashing. I see the errors below…

Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered.

Then

The description for Event ID 13 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

\Device\Video3
Graphics SM Warp Exception on (GPC 0, TPC 0, SM 0): Illegal Instruction Encoding

Pre Season patch didn´t fix Fenris error for me, so now what? no Season for me and all the people with the same problem?

Yeah same here, Diablo 4 still is crashing all the time. Seems like the only thing left for me to do is RMA my graphicscard.

Still getting fenris crash. In addition, my screen now freezes up to 30 seconds randomly when interacting with merchants.

Notebook Lenovo Legion 5, Ryzen 7 4800H, 1660ti. Installed win10 with all updates, with the latest nvidia driver. The game is crashing (fenris). The game is installed on an NVME drive. I removed the screen frequency from 144 to 60, removed anti-aliasing, changed the drivers to outdated ones (with the nvidia driver released today - the same problem). However, the laptop has two hard drives and the second one has win11 installed. AND ON IT - EVERYTHING WORKS “OUT OF THE BOX”. What am I doing wrong? It’s not convenient for me to restart the laptop from the right disk every time for the game …

ps: try updating to win11.

Still no response from Blizzard?!

I’ve had the exact same issue since around the same time OP posted. Only thing I can do to “delay” the crashes, is to cap 60 fps. Work sometimes, sometimes not.

Been over 60 days now and Blizzard should have gotten thousands upon thousands errors reported regarding this issue already!
