For people who don't want seasons/battle pass

Hey,

So, just so you know, the concept of season is now quasy inherent to the arpg genre.
What to they bring?

-New content (after campaign)
-new paragon boards
-New spells?
-New legendaries
-New difficulty
-New bosses
-New glyphes

Why do you want to have a new character when this happens?

because the game will not be the same tbh, you might have tried a barb build that could be improved with the new items, but you should change your whole setup to try it? just start a new one and at the end of the season you’ll be able to try both in the eternal realm.

The point i agree with is that season one might come a bit too early or should have shipped as release content.

There are some points about seasonal content we might encounter in the next month, + the battle pass will bring new “content” in form of objectives to accomplish through out the whole season. it might not be “A new game” but a whole different experience for theoricrafting, boss strategizing and other mechanics like leaderboards or quality of life improvement, and maybe crafting… who knows.

I’m hoping to stick to the game, with season bringing enough to turn my head around and make me say “i might try this one this time”.

Have a nice day,
some words from a random arpg fan

Most of us will never even make it to lvl 100 if there’s a reset every 3 months. Maybe if they dramatically reduced xp needed to level up. Also, they definitely need to let you progress through the battle pass without ever re-rolling. I had absolutely no idea “seasons” in arpgs ment restarting the game from scratch. There’s zero chance I would have bought the version with the battle pass included if I had.

i guess that’s on you then, you should allways inform before you buy.
and why are people avoiding this and creating new posts about battle pass? x)

What did you think it means if I may ask? I mean, it’s about the race to max lvl. Did you think everyone can bring their eternal character? What would be the point of that? By the way, only 2 times in diablo2 I got a character to lvl99, yet, I had thousands of hours of fun. You don’t have to bring a character to max level or participate in the race to enjoy seasons. Just play the game and have fun.

@Vaccine: You made exactly the point I was going to make.

“Most people won’t even get to 100 in three months”.
So? Level 100 is not the end goal of a season. The goal of a season is to enjoy new content and try something new (character/build/etc). If the season ends but you’re still looking forward to how that seasonal character could grow, great! Hop in the eternal realm and continue developing them. The new content from the next season will still be there waiting for you.

If you’re approaching Diablo 4 seasons with a completionist mindset but you’re strapped for time, you’re being unrealistic and should adjust your expectations instead of lobbying for Blizzard to change their game.

But we can renew all skills so what is your point?

ah yes a build is just about spells, no statweight,no specific uniques and no legendaries?
imagine you have the best build you have ever wanted with your first char, but there is a patch buffing some other spell you wanted to try but was feeling bad last time, and oh, there is also a new legendary with this spell , oh, do you want to ruin your current build trying to create a new one and shot yourself in the foot trying to beat mobs you can’t cause you don’t have the right stats , or building it from stratch while understanding every bit of the new mechanics, compare with the other one, that’s ARPG’s

I think you overrate such update that change entire game, just beacuse one spell.
If there will be some better build, you can just farm this new legend with ongoing build and then switch - I don’t believe that we will have situation that you can’t farm new item beacue there is no build that will allow you to. It will be nonsene from Blizzard.

i speak of personal experience, having played d3 some path of exile and some last epoch, for each game i have multiple high level of the same class, and sometime even just different iteration of the same specs.

Level 100 is not the main goal.
you have to keep in mind that this arpg’s are some kind of sandbox for builds, their is usually no point getting to 100 except if you want to break some record of push you builds to your limits, and this is more focused toward hardcore players.
I imagine the last and hardest objective of a season will Never be “reach lvl 100”

I don’t think the seasons are so much the problem, but leveling up every season, not everyone likes to do that every time, those who play without help know how hard it can be to level up.

Maybe things like new items, things like that, could have gotten into the game without seasons. And the seasons introduce time later.
