Personally, I believe that the FOV is too narrow and could benefit from a 10-20% increase. A wider FOV would provide players with a broader view of the battlefield, potentially improving the gaming experience.
One issue I’ve noticed is that ranged characters sometimes stand off-screen and shoot at us without being visible. This can be frustrating as it requires us to constantly readjust our position just to see them. It would be more intuitive if we could spot these characters without having to move around.
Additionally, there are certain enemies in the game that jump or charge at us from off-screen, catching us off guard. It would be helpful see them as the enemies are preparing to attack from a distance. This would allow players to react accordingly, rather than being taken by surprise.

This has been discussed a lot and the consensus is that it is fine.
If it is too wide, the game becomes less immersive and far easier. See treasure Goblins off screen, PvP ranged characters have a massive advantage.
Then there is performance adjustments.
Balance issues for mobs, boss fights.
As it is you get the perfect blend of immersion and details but enough range for balanced middle range and close combat.

D4 is using the Diablo Immortal “engine” for view/camera mechanics. If you go play Diablo Immortal on mobile you will see its exactly the same dynamics, height e.t.c The mob packs are directly linked with an algorithm of spawning to this camera aspect, its garbage
if you were to raise the FOV, you would break the algorithm of mob spawns and the way your character gains XP as your efficiency of becoming “stronger” is increased that does not correlate to how they want to present the game.
D4 is a mobile game, its Diablo Immortal, with mobile mechanics and implementations, with the difference being higher detailed textures and a clumsy boring skilltree. This game won’t last

Hahaha.
Oh man. You missed the key difference. Gameplay.
D4 is sublime, perfect and smooth.
Immortal was absolutely terrible.
I love D4, easily the best arpg in a long time.

Yes, please. I second that.

I disagree I feel like necro having minions and to a certain extent druid makes the small fov distracting and awkward, d2 fov was perfect. The only reason I can think of them zooming in this much is so you can see your skins better. if ranged is too strong because you can see off screen that is a problem you can solve by balancing ranged and not letting every class get gibed by something offscreen.

I totally agree, the camera needs to be pushed back, in some areas of the game it does and it feels perfect! Right now the camera feels claustrophobic and doesn’t matter what class you pick, you will be always playing almost in melee range, breaking immersion and forcing you to constantly look at the map to actually see where you are… I stopped playing becouse of this. D2 and D3 camera distance was fine, I don’t understand why developers came up with such a wrong and tedious choice.

Oh no, a whole lot of old school and newbie players agree with you !
As do I. Very old school here. It’s one of the reasons I don’t enjoy playing this game anymore. I haven’t played more than a few hours for 2 months now where I used to keep playing Diablo games daily for hours. So yeah, the development team is right and us players are clearly wrong. But what comes around comes around, you’ll see…

Same here… I play on a 3440x1440 screen and the FOV is still way to narrow
well put… clear the story and uninstall… the rest is a pointless grind for dead PVP
