Fps problem after newest patch

Hi,

I’m reporting a severe performance regression that started immediately after the patch that went live this past Tuesday (Season 15). The game was running completely normally on Monday — no issues, no stutters — and has been unplayable since the update.

Symptoms:

FPS is stuck at approximately 5, both in the main menu (idle screen) and during actual gameplay.

Lowering all graphics settings to the absolute minimum (including texture quality) has zero effect on FPS.

This is reproducible every session, not an occasional stutter.

System specs:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600H

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop (6GB VRAM)

RAM: 16GB

Storage: NVMe SSD

Platform: [Battle.net](http://Battle.net) (PC)

Diagnostics I’ve already performed:

Confirmed via Task Manager that the RTX 3060 is correctly set as the active GPU and is being used (ruled out integrated-GPU fallback).

Increased virtual memory / page file to 16,000 MB.

Set all in-game graphics settings, including textures, to Low.

Verified the issue is Diablo 4-specific — other demanding games (e.g. Wartales) run completely normally on the same hardware, same session.

Monitored Task Manager during actual gameplay (not idle) and found:

Dedicated GPU memory: 6.0/6.0 GB — completely maxed out, even while standing in an empty, low-detail outdoor area with no enemies or effects on screen.

Shared GPU memory: 6.9 GB in use — meaning VRAM is overflowing into system RAM.

GPU 3D usage sits at only 1-2%, consistent with the GPU sitting idle/starved rather than actually rendering.

System RAM also sits at 96-98% usage throughout the session.

This strongly points to a VRAM/RAM memory leak introduced or reintroduced by Tuesday’s patch, similar to previously reported leak issues in past seasons. Given that lowering settings has no effect and VRAM is maxed even on a bare, empty screen, this does not appear to be a hardware limitation but a regression in memory management following the update.

My setup worked perfectly at 60 FPS on High settings just one day before the patch, and now can’t even render the menu, this points directly to a VRAM/RAM memory leak introduced by Tuesday’s Season 15 patch — consistent with memory leak issues reported in previous seasons. Lowering settings has no effect, and VRAM is maxed even on a completely empty screen, which rules out this being a normal hardware/settings issue .No hardware changed on my end between Monday and Tuesday. Nothing was reinstalled, no driver update, no OS update — the only variable was the game patch itself.

Has anyone else seen this since Tuesday’s patch? Any official acknowledgment of a VRAM leak in Season 15 would be appreciated.

Thanks.

same problem. i have 32 gb ram 5080. and d4 used 16-18 ram. and closed for one error memory

It is happening even in PS5, they messed up something at their servers, again!
