Since the D2R patch last week, D2R won’t start anymore. It used to work – I had the infamous “You haven’t been online in the last 30 days” error. Without clicking on Battle.net. There was no option to choose between online and offline mode.
Anyway, now I can’t start the game at all.
After searching for a support contact for quite some time, I finally received an unhelpful response from Battle.net customer service. At least they were able to confirm that the D2R license is indeed linked to my account. But they admitted that they “don’t have access to the necessary tools to conduct further investigation” and that the only way to get help is to “post your detailed results on the official Diablo forum.” So here I am.
The crash log in the Windows event log looks something like this:

I already tried everything from the two support articles “You Have Not Been Online In The Last 30 Days” and “Diablo II: Resurrected Lockups and Crash Errors“ (even tried re-installing the game).
PS: Their other suggestion was to “submit a bug report in the game” – funny, how am I supposed to do that if the game won’t start?
