I have been playing since release, love this franchise but this just feels so repetitive at this point in the worst way possible. Its just the same things over and over, and you will say thats all diablo games in a nutshell and i would agree with you but the older titles were more fun atleast.
For example this christmas event, no effort just mindless grinding. I am a few hours in i got like 35 bells and i am sick of it. Like its not worth farming this much for fomo limited cosmetics.
Wanna make this event more fun, make it 10x easier in the drop rate. So it can be finished withing 5 hours so we can go back to the game.
And make the boss easier for crying out loud was just fighting him and he literally 2 shots me so i have to kite, take him 10 % time runs out and i lose to him. GG. Waste of time
You’ve essentially summed up the game’s core i.e. a string of shallow tedious grind loops.
Game looks good though but the animations and physics are wooden and dated tbh.
Such wasted potential. New content = another grind loop.
PoE much smoother. No lag,no stuttering,no dcs 24/7 . Has an actual endgame and tons of stuff you can do without getting bored. But without investing 100-300 dollars into cosmetics, you char looks like literal POS and its not worth playing. Who wants their char to look like crap, something they have to look at 10-15 hours a day?
I think this is a result of the Diablo 3 backlash who was criticized by seasoned D2 players for being quite casual. Getting to the endgame was so much easier, even if it required it’s hours.
With D4, the answer to this criticism was almost sadistic.
I think there has to be balance, at the end of the day games are supposed to be fun, and I sadly don’t have a lot of fun playing D4. I pour hours and hours daily, and it feels like I’m getting nowhere. With this in mind, it must truly feel horrible for casual players.
A couple of things to note really, Path of Exile is 10-years old so it’s unfair to compare a game that is only just 6-months old to one that has been out 20x that. Secondly, if you have 10-15-hours a day to play then you’re one of the lucky ones. Many people have other priorities like working, family etc… Every game has a business model because at the end of the day, it’s there to yield a profit one way or another whether that’s cosmetics, sales, or both.
To the OP, if you don’t find the game fun then it’s not for you and that’s okay; it just means that ARPGs are not your kind of game. There are a plethora of other games that you can play which you may find fun.
The new boss is not that difficult either. Not to discredit your experience; however, I, like many other players, can one-shot the boss without any issues. Perhaps you would like some pointers with your build?
Also, the game isn’t forcing you to participate in the event as it’s entirely optional.
If you want compare D4 and PoE, you have to go and look PoE 2 gameplay videos. After then you can somehow compare D4 and PoE 2. But we have to wait until they publish PoE 2. I have to say that it looks very good and is bad competitor to D4. In PoE 2 we can really build good characters, like in Poe. I think they do trading system even better than it is in PoE.
This is merely conjecture at this point. Comparing the games is not feasible as they both will do things differently. You either like one, the other, or both. Which of the games you like doesn’t really matter. What matters is you have fun. Complaining about a game you do not like really does not do much; however, it does use up your time (which you can’t get back), and tells the developers how unhappy you because of whatever issues you have about the game.
You say that character building in PoE II is really good, the game isn’t out yet and the closed beta starts in June 2024. It will not be ready for release until the end of next year at a minimum because the scale of these games is immense. I just think it’s better to wait before making any final judgement.
Problem is that i do not like PoE,i actually hate it. But i also have to be realist and give massive props , because they actually care about their playerbase and about PoE,compared to blizzard who couldn’t give less shi* about us nor their games. Its all about the money (as it should be) but they are too greedy. They are giving us NOTHING , while milking everything from us.
I totally agree with Op as the grind doesn’t even give much reward.
I completed the Blood event i.e. the green area and unlocked all of the loot/rewards. Not a single item was useful to my character.
Since I was level 72 and had all 925 items or near to it, I haven’t had a single useful item drop, and I’m now 80+. Lots and lots of grind, including world events etc and there’s nothing that I have received in a long, long time, that I didn’t just salvage. Everything is fully upgraded so what really is the point in playing now to level 100?
The best looking gear, by far, is in the shop. Nothing you loot is worth the bother.
something else that happened to me right now and i am actually fuming, is the event vendor doesnt show the items that you already purchased so i purchased this sword again and i already had it . I cant refund it to get my points back and i am far away now from buying the item that cost 50 points. I wont farm another hour for thaat shit now. And event ends tommorow. This wouldnt annoy me as much as it just did but this donkey game just spat in my face.
Like I say before GGG needs to listen players because they money depends, how long they can keep players playing.
Blizz have they money when players buy the game, so they don’t care.
I hope we can get Blizz to notice that they have to work with D4, so we can play it.
Those people that claim POE 2 will have something better better better
Are the people that hyped for example Warlord of draenor and then quit after a week
It’s the EMOTIONS talking not reason
hate towards D4 people saying nonsence stuff like POE 2 will destroy D4
And they saw like few minutes of gameplay nothing else
Doing conclusion about it
