Really hate to say it but, after holding off since Season 2 (I didn’t play Season 1) to see what changes would come in Season 4, the game is no different in terms of the real issue, which is that the game is just boring to play. Everything just feels shallow and pointless.
I started a fresh character and doing one or two Helltides I was like, ok where too next? There was nothing, nothing to motivate me to continue and I realized there is no connection to anything I was doing. I just spammed 3 buttons and everything died. I didn’t even need to put on any of the new gear that was filling my bags, or care.
In fact I didn’t even need to apply my talent points either, I had 15 at the point of remembering.
There is no connection to the loot and my character’s abilities and as a result no interest.
I quickly began not to care for anything, and yet this was the very start of the game and you expect me to do 100 levels of this? Helltides is the game? It all feels completely meaningless.
This is the part that needs to change for me. Create some meaning and connection to the loot. i.e. Mob has 10 health, with current sword (2 damage) I know it will take 5 hits to kill the mob. I kill big dragon I get shiny new sword that does 5 damage, I now kill mobs in 2 hits … empowerment achieved! Next dragon pleeeeease!
— this is missing. Also, there is no point in doing anything with other people - there is zero synergy.
It’s depressing and I want the game to do well but, for me at least, the journey ends here. The changes Blizzard make are in the completely wrong areas/direction - they want more grind and less reward with small adjustments here and there keeping the cost to a minimum. I realize they aren’t anywhere near on the same wave-length as me, which is tragic given this game’s legacy and my loyalty to it.
Brotha I am 100% with you. Hadn’t played since season 2 came out and back then I was hating this game. Fast forward to the other day. Logged in, made a new seasonal character, started out killing monsters, leveling fast and then it hit me. Why am I playing this boring azz game? The root issue is still there. There is little cohesion or reason to be doing anything at all. It just plain out right sucks. It will be years before this game is in a state that is worthy of my time and even then, I have very little hope of it ever peaking my interest again. It’s pretty sad.
I have no idea what the heck people who keep playing this are even thinking or why they continue to hold out some false sense of hope. This game is dead. Admit it, move on. Rip that band-aid off and be done with it. Blizzard is dead.
Because the ones are left are the ones with 60 to 70 IQ. And those people can be tricked easy. Like make another boring NMD, tie mats to it, and call it a day. Those 60 IQ creature will celebrate it as the super endgame solution. Or another example, hide all the stat bloat (which is still there), reduce it to 3 stats and call it itemization rework. Those 60 IQ creatures wont understand that the itemization is still boring and trash, and its still tedious to read trough the items (because no loot filter). What tempering is, should be on items in more creative and more crazy for interesting builds.
But wont happen, because said 60 IQ creatures will buy anything and therefor support this boring mess.
And now paid PR Staff will come in and defend this abomination of a game…
Well my ape friend, because the game is trash. I wanted 2 weeks of fun and I had 3 days. So I make up the rest of the days talking to apes and study them. So, do you have fun staying 24/7 in helltides? Do you wear your safety helmet when playing or only when driving to “school” ?
Imo it wouldnt be as boring as it is but half the things on sorcerers once again are broken or not working as intended and lacking crap ton of dmg / toughness because of it.
On top of the fact that sorc seems to get 1 hit KOd to its death in The Pit after difficulty of 50 (perhaps even earlier) unless you dodge 100% everything everywhere. Which is simply put not just possible, so much projectiles and aoe things in the map as you fight.
So much broken…
Ye, no big pass. Seeing 1 year of people with 0 talent writing applications with chatgpt, getting in positions where they should not be, using chatgpt to “try” fullfill the work is enough for me. (this plagues whole gaming industry atm)
If PoE 2 does not change the genre, then i never touch an ARPG again. Outdated on so many levels, unreal how you can release such a garbage game when you could study lost ark and using all the goods from it, while avoid its shortcomings/bad things is beyond me.

To be fair I had fun this season for like 2 weeks but now I get bored right after the game starts. There is nothing to do, nothing to acheive, nothing to find.
I got the few ubers I wanted, I have no interest to grind greater affixes, all those do is give me more numbers…
After this 2 weeks I have seen it all and done all there is to do. Cleared 100+ pits, killed lilith, got my ubers… was fun but now its shallow and empty again. Cant really play anything else than Pit anyways as every other content is way too easy, 1 click per monster, they just die from seeing me, what a joke.
If you skip storyline, all you doing the first 30 or so levels is endless Helltides, so yeah it gets boring fast.
I decided to redo the storyline on both Barb and Druid, since I hadn’t played the game since August last year and this time I actually made it to Tier 4, but now having my Barb in the 60’s level range I am getting bored again. All you do is Helltides and Nightmare dungeons… over and over and over and over again… so yeah, the main problem is still there.
Only difference now, is that you level faster in Season 4, so you reach a higher level than before, before you get bored again lol.
By far the worst gaming for 2023 . i dont knwo from where to begin. I am sure not even the diablo 4 team dont even play that game . Rng suck hard, the gold? I wil not comment. bosses and lilith? also no comments then they wonder why no one play d4 anymore or why Blizzard gets on bottom. You can reset your tempering items and repeat pits. Cause its so fun to do pits 24/7 right? Bravo blizzard. For sure you are geniuses. You know what end game and what fun is. At least i hope microsoft kick you all away and try save the diablo series
its pretty strange for me because im a big player on D3 and its almost the same loop.
for levelup your char you do the same thing (you can take another path but the best is killing streak) BUT the big difference is : you do this loop for 1 or 2 hour and you are lvl max.
after that yo do 3 thing, bounty, rift and greater rift and thats it, BUT (and its a big BUT) its not boring …
you find multiple item (set and unique), you can switch to a new build in 1 min
you feel the power
Max lvl you keep powerup your char with paragon (unlimited paragon, good or not i dont know but you always have a reward to do something)
same loop forever and not boring like d4 … so strange ^^
