Game needs to be more like Gauntlet and Less like Dark Souls!

Diablo is supposed to be similar to Gauntlet in that you are wading though large groups of enemies. I would even mind destructible monster spawners!

What I don’t want to do is play World of Borecraft Diablo 2 edition where I am a sorcerer face tanking all the monsters while we trade blows for two hours and I don’t want to play Dark Souls where I have to dodge constantly to avoid getting 1 shotted.

I want to feel powerful as I wade through waves of armies of hell as they crash against my might attempting to bring me down and prevent me from achieving my goal. I want to wipe out masses of enemies with a single attack and watch them try to strategize how to take this lone hero down against their sheer numbers.

Sounds like you want diablo 3. Besides, the beta is capped at level 20, im sure you will be strong enough to “wipe out masses of enemies” in the endgame.

There isn’t even enough enemies on the map. Often I am struggling to find something to kill and just walking through vast empty space.

in open world, or dungeon?>

Sometimes it’s both.

I prefer things like this. I never played diablo and other arpgs, because it is too chaotic, I found this diablo to be grounded and simple, that’s why I like it and I did pre-order it.

You just want to play an MMO not an ARPG.

What makes D4 worse than it could be has quite banal reasons.
One of them is that, once again like in D3, all the classes have almost the same gameplay to match the progress and the comparison and competition in an endgame, which is immediately noticeable at the beginning. No matter which class you choose, basically all of them feel the same.

This is a point that severely undermines the whole game as an RPG, where it’s about the differences in classes and playstyles and not about alignment.
