Game not detecting GeForce MX570 GPU, only showing integrated GPU

I’m trying to run the game on my laptop (HP ProBook 450 12th Gen) and the game is unable to detect Nvidia GeForce MX570 GPU. Instead it shows only the integrated Intel UHD graphics and obviously runs very poorly on it.

After disabling the integrated GPU from device manager the game is forced to run on MX570 on which it shows popup message that GPU is not supported. Now the game quality is worse then integrated gpu.

I have the latest Game Ready Driver from Nvidia installed (released end of May), and have set the Diablo4.exe and Diablo4Launcher.exe to High Performance under display settings but still nothing work.

Blizzard please fix this problem please!

Same here. I keep trying my Dell Inspiron 16 5620 with Intel Iris Xe graphic and Nvidia MX570. I have tried every setup from windows, Nvidia panel and battery and the game is unable to dectect MX570. Of course it’s not playable without MX570.

I also tried my friend’s laptop of same model and the situation was the same.

Blizzard please fix it.

Please make sure to have the latest driver installed. Don’t just check via software, but rather download from the website and install it through that.

I have installed latest driver and also tried the linked provided which is the same driver and installed again. The game still cannot detect the GPU.

Hi Dresiaron,

Thanks for the reply. I have already installed the same driver as provided in the link. Still I redownloaded it, and used DDU for a complete driver uninstall and clean install. It’s showing the latest driver version (31.0.15.3598) everywhere (Device Manager, Dxdiag, GeForce Experience) however the problem still persists and game is unable to pick the Nvidia GPU.

Any other solution will be highly appreciated.

Hi, I ve spent 5 days facing the problem and following lots of forums why that stupid fenris error exists and not able to launch the game.
Now I found the answer by selectively disabling GPU.
Answer is - Diablo4 not supports Nvidia Geforce MX 570 - it is even stated on launching when you disable integrated GPU and force to recognize NG MX 570. But then the game slows dramatically being completely unacceptable to play.
So you smart Guys working for Nvidia Geforce oraz Blizzard be so kind for us and do the job to combine it and fix the problem.
Thank you.

Hi Medicus86. I agree with you and Blizzard should figure this issue out with Nvidia GPUs. As for Diablo4 not supporting Nvidia GeForce MX 570, I don’t think that is the case. Its just that the GPU is not in game’s compatible list, and fixing this should not be a challenge for Blizzard.

I really don’t want my €70 wasted. Might not look like a lot to some, but for me its a lot. So please Blizzard fix this issue.

Hi all! I have the same problem. Laptop hp ProBook 450 G9 (intel Core i5-1235U, nVidia GeForce MX 570, Win 11, driver 535.98). If both adapters are active, then the game sees only Intel Iris Xe, if it is disabled, the game starts with an error and runs very, very slowly, but sees the nVidia GeForce MX 570.

Same issue for my DELL Vostro 5620 with Intel Iris Xe graphic and Nvidia MX570. Normally Crashing on Character Creation or after Character selection. Disable the Intel Iris Xe graphic will stop the Crash, but the Frame rate is so poor make game unplayable.

I think this is Driver problem in interagtion both GPU, I know these kind of notebook is not really for gaming purpose. Just hoping Nvidia will look into this problem.

Just to add, even after updating the Nvidia GPU driver to current latest version (536.23 - release date 14-june-23) clean install the game still doesnt recognize MX570.

I have the same problem with an MSI laptop, the game logs show it can only detect the IGPU and not the GTX1060 so tries to launch and fails.
I have logged a ticket they told me to post here as it isn’t a bug they have seen reported, my post here never got a reply.

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to refund this game? I purchased it on release day (6th June) and want to refund it since I’m not seeing Blizzard coming up with a solution to this issue anytime soon.

After the last update 27/06/23, the game started to see my nVidia GeForce MX570 without forcibly disabling Intel Iris Xe (but the game starts with a warning that my video card is not supported, but it is now in the menu). The performance in the game has increased very noticeably, judging by the FPS more than twice Thank you Blizzard!

Hey Halikut that’s good news! Enjoy the game.

I’m also updating now let’s see what happens.

I will keep my fingers crossed for you, it hasn’t worked for my 1060 though :frowning:

After updating the game to the latest update (27th june) the missing GPU issue seems to be resolved. It still gives the message at startup but GPU is detected within the game, and the in-game graphics are far better than the integrated GPU.
As a bonus, the GeForce Experience application is also picking up Diablo 4 and optimizing the graphics, which is pretty good.

Thanks a lot Blizzard for the fix, much appreciated.

Marking Halikut’s response as the solution.
