So, this will probably going to be a long rant.

My main class is rogue. Currently lvl 100, been farming nm tier 60 with not too much of a hazzle. I’ve even tried on Uber Lilith and last night i almost got her with my latest poison build.
A lot of trial and error to smooth out any kinks.
However, this morning after the latest patch i though i should try some nm dungeons. After i read up about the latest changes and watch some of the content creators i thought i should give nm a try. I thought i should start off with something easy and tried a tier 48. It was sweaty…
So i figured i should try out something more of a defense build and respec’d my skilltree and looked over my paragon boards and everything looked ok. Started a tier 37 and it wasn’t that much of a difference. Still took a beating but atleast i could kill off some of the level 91 trashmobs, but some of the elites was a whole other ordeal to muster. 9 levels below mine!
Then theres the loot issue. Even worse loot than post patch. Item power level was no where near my current gear. More sacred than ancestrials. Straight to salvage/sell bin.
Now to my point;
Why is it a good thing to nerf damage reduction to almost half what it was?
Why nerf damage attributes to half when the attributes still are a must have on a build? (Vulnerable etc)
Why reduce cdr, which is still required to any build/class, so much when it wasn’t that easy to get to begin with?
Why do this one day before the season starts and no builds will work as intended, unless the intention is just to prolong the grind into oblivion?
Then we get the buffs, so everyone is supposed to be a glass cannon? You may, if u get your luck high enough or manage to find any uber uniques, accidentaly manage to kill trashmobs, bosses etc but if they sneeze you’re insta-killed.
With all these straight out nerfs across the board, bad loot, extra grind, expensive respec, reroll casino slotmachine hell, no resistance to elements, forever freeze changes, has made the gameplay so extremely frustrating.
And on top of all these changes someone thought “hey, getting out of the dungeon after clearing everything is too easy, lets make the “leave the dungeon” take another 2 seconds”.
Today was not a good day for D4. If this is the future we’re looking at i’m having serious doubts anything good will come out of the next patches. I just can’t understand why making attributes a must have, just to nerf them to half of what it was. In the meantime not really making any of the other attributes good enough to actually be viable in any build.
And adding more resistance to elements to the loot table while they’re still bugged and won’t do anything until season 2?!

After playing post-patch i feel i need to update my initial post. Just abit…
I’ve now tried helltide, regular dungeons, nm dungeons, trying to get tree of whispers finally leaving me with some nice shiny loot and i even gave my best effort on Uber Lilith.
So to break things down;
Helltide;
Yup, the nerf is felt. All over. #metoo feels like a hashtag needed after being trained by the hellish hordes.
Let’s read the patch notes people “All interactiable objects in Helltide zones now have a small chance of dropping Abberant Cinders”.
Yup, small chance. Very, very small chance. I’d say a minuscule chance. Just like the chances are from the random trashmobs. The droprates on Abberant Cinders are beyond worse. You can hurl yourself into a gang of mobs thinking all of these 20+ mobs must be holding LOADS of these cookies. Nope, the don’t!
IF you manage to get enough to open a mystery chest within those 60 minutes then Lady Fortune has smiled upon you. And even at lvl 100 you feel the cc’s and dots no matter how you’ve speced your skills. Almost laughable… almost… atm i just feel sad…
Because you will get hit by the falling fire balls from heaven(?) and they will kill you fast.
Quick answer to the “Developer’s Note: We’re looking to increase the danger in Helltide’s risk-reward gameplay…”
Yes, you’ve changed “risk-reward” to “all risk, no reward”.

Regular dungeons;
Sure enough the regular dungeons mobs are -5 levels. But since resilience towards elements doesn’t work and you have no other real means to get life back after all the nerfs, you might get hit with a lucky hit and you will mow through your potions like never before. To be fare, i didn’t have to work hard clearing them solo. But some of the elites or mini bosses will hurt you. Some elites have also become dmg sponges. Hits keep on coming and the healthbar still doesn’t move.
Nightmare Dungeons;
Still the same as my earlier post really. Try push higher tiers solo and get severely punished. Normal grind with midtier nm have gone to tedious abnormal lowtier grind.
Tree of Whispers
Sheesh, these frakkers surely deserved their beheadings. So after completing World Bosses and whatnot you get these reward thingies to trade at the Tree of Whispers. Yup, all good. Let’s trade them for some good stuff. So you will get a couple of sacred, one ancestrial and a legendary. Not always the stuff you thought you were getting. I’ve traded in for a box of jewelry and gotten everything but rings or amulets.
But the item power is atleast good right, you may ask. No, it’s much lower than what you already have. So what’s the point doing tree of whispers? That is my point, there is no point.
Uber Lilith;
I tried my build against her today. Same build as yesterday when i almost took her down.
Today i burned through all my potions really quick. Got her down to about half her health. Poison builds still do loads of damage. Then i ran out of potions and since siphoning strikes sucks donkey dingle after the patch, i was killed.
World Bosses;
Here’s another endgame glory hole, but you’re on the recieving end.
Sure the boss dies fairly easy and i even didn’t have to use any potions this time?!?!!11wtfbbq
Inconsistency is everywhere. Not only with world bosses…
The lootdrop from world bosses; really?! 3 items. I got 3 items. One sacred, one ancestrial and one legendary. I dont count random cash or gems. Who need gems now adays anyway?! There’s an inflation of gems dropping. It would take me 10 years to grind all the cash i need to upgrade them to Royals.
My conclusion so far; inconsistency in making damage, take damage (especially poison and cold) against mobs, elites, mini bosses/world bosses/uber boss and lootdrops.
I still can’t see how it’s viable to nerf regens/cdr/dmg when there’re huge problems with elemental damage taken. For instance poison elites, cold elites all over the game. Even fire nowadays!
Having elites making such amount of dot and in the same time freezelock you forever and with no regens, cdr or resistances to help, how is that “necessary for the overall health of the game”?! I just don’t see it.
Also, after hitting max cap level, shouldn’t players feel they actually can punish the hellish demons infestering the world?!
I’m not saying leave everything as it was. The game has to evolve. How about fixing the skills etc that allowed for Uber Bosses to be oneshot solomode?! As it is now everyone is being punished for what a few people have managed to accomplish. Call it exploits, bugs or whatever you want.
My point is that since i’ve capped out i keep getting punished without the means to hit back. A game should be fun, challenging and an escape from everyday hazzles. Where’s the carrot?! Players keep getting the whip. How long until they feel they’ve been punished enough?!
After this patch this game doesn’t feel that much fun anymore. Just another work day, just another grind. As said before, “all risk and no reward”.
