Getting really worried about this game :o(

Are other people also getting more and more worried for this game ?

I mean, this is a Beta it is done to fix stuff before a release BUT … I didn’t expect so much stuff to have issues and so heavy ones.

Look, I am a long time Blizzard fan (started with Diablo1, Warcraft1, Starcraft1, …) so I am used to Blizzard shitty game release (paper servers, errors, etc …).

After a catastrophic Diablo Immortal, I was already worried about D4 on the "P2W)-side.

Yesterday, I waited 3 hours after Beta start and tried to connect:

  • server issues: checked
  • long queues (up to over 50 minutes for me): checked
  • crash with weird errors (which bring back to long queues): checked
  • crash when trying to teleport to a different zone or when entering a donjon: checked
  • etc etc etc …

Okay, was the beginning so maybe this morning (over 15 hours after Beta start) in will work better, right ? WRONG: I wasn’t even able to play more than 30min before everything related before occurred and even worse: I am not even able to reconnect and play (thanks for the bonus I wanted to reach …)

To the game itself: I have still no fixed opinion yet but even if I find the graphics and story nice, the play feels “slow”, hard to know where to go next (compared to D2 and D3), skill trees are weird and character progression (levelling) seems also very slow to me “not really rewarding” nor really powerful (again compared to D2/D3).

All that stated, my main point now is that all this would be acceptable for a test for a game coming out in 1 to 3 years … but it is supposed to come out in 3 months !!! Really ?

For know, I couldn’t recommend this game and I am really worried about D4 … seems hard to get the game good and issues fixed within 3 months.

I disagree, they could know the amount of players:

  1. They had similar (bad) experience with D3 and other of their games
  2. This is “early” beta = they exactly know the number of keys they provided (either directly or over early game buy)

Next we, this will be completely something else since “anyone” can join (and I expect it even to be a much worse mess). But this we, they knew it in advance and this is bad.

Back again to my points: that there are issues during a Beta, is usual (not normal, but usual). What makes me worry are 1) the huge amount of issues 2) how heavy and game impacting they are (I am not speaking about a blinking enemy or something of that kind, but errors that crash the game and keep you from playing it for over 50min) 3) that this game is supposed to come out in a finished state in “only” 3 months and actual situation doesn’t let me think it will be fine until then … .o/
