Its funny, isn’t it?
i can’t see you facial expression when you write this, how am i supposed to read this?
Well Im laughng at the overall joke of giving us 666 coins and not being able to use them…
thank you for more context !
Give good game first, not a pile of garbage, pls
Buy two, get one free. If they gave 1k coins people would only have to buy one and they would not make any money off it?
That’s the whole point, most people won’t finish the battle pass.
This is how the first battle passes worked, until activision and 343 industries changed the meta
Yeah. No. A company’s goal is to make money. Also, they said that they designed the battlepass in a way that even casuals will be able to complete it. Nobody is forced to buy a battlepass and it’s a cosmetic option. It’s a fair thing they want to make money. I’d understand if there were no coins at all, like overwatch is doing it…, but 2+1 is a fair thing.
Nah, it’s just A/B greed.
They changed it the same way in CoD several seasons ago.
Diablo devs probably cannot do anything about it.
And now iiiimaaaagiiiiiine.
Fortnite, a free to play game, has by far the most generous battlepass of any game, that i know of. You pay 850 bucks for a bpass. And you get 1500 out, if you complete it.
I know. But this is not Fortnite. Companies can decide themselves what business model they run. Just because they run a different one, blizzard is not obliged to do the same, wether you (and obviously I’d prefer that too) like it or not.
Yup blizzard makes us bend over and will not even thank us for that.
It is actually the equivalent of buy 1 get 2 free (okay, almost, 2 coins off)
This is in the long run of course.
Basically you get a 66,6% (so almost 2/3) cashback.
Now if you simplified this and make it into a 2/3 discount, you see that you only pay 1/3 per season. So 3 season passes for the price of one.
Obviously the cashback means that you need to have the 1000 platinum in your account to play, which changes things a little.
And you will always get the 666 during the season, so in the best case, after many seasons (don’t feel like calculating) you are left with 666 coins in your account.
Furthermore we don’t know if blizzard will keep having 666 platinum in the pass
But if they do it will roughly end up being buy 1, get two free.
I think… correct me if I am wrong here
Edit: I think it would cause an outrage if they removed the platinum from the pass at some point
Just curious, why do you want 1110 coins?
“Thank you”? You pay them for the privilege.
cause 666 is uneven, nor enough to buy stuff.
So i would love to ask just for 1k but , that’s not enough, most skins are 2400.
it’s just a big finger in our butts, so we are obliged to get 500+ coins, then you are left with some random uneven number (probably close to a next buy) and it’s just a sad incentive to make us spend more
I guess this is the point I tried to make, thou be it in a somewhat jokey fashion… You are gonna never be able to spend them all(even if you buy extra coins, I wouldn’t. But hey people you do you)… So it is a just a big FU, regardless at how you cut it. So I just laughed.
I wonder if the EU will ever get a law that forces the exchange of currencies like this back to euros.
I did some calculations (but I can’t easily get theming here now - am on mobile) up to 8 years from now.
I’ll see if I can post it later.
The ‘spill over’ of platinum is a lot.
Assuming we get 666 platinum per pass each time, the cost per pass on the mid to long run (1.5-8 years) is between 3 and 5 euros depending on what platinum packages you buy and how long you keep it up.
2800 platinum should buy you 6 passes for a normal edition and 8 additional passes for any of the special editions (so 9 in total). Obviously the first pass has already been paid for in the price of the edition.
If you are planning to go for the long long run it seems that the 5700 platinum package offers slightly more value for money than multiple 2800 packages. However, the 11500 offers nothing more than multiple 5700 packages (except some more ‘spill over’ platinum).
Both packages offer better euro per run ratios than buying platinum per 1000.
DISCLAIMER: DON’T BASE YOUR DECISIONS PURELY ON THIS POST!!
I could have made a mistake and I don’t know what blizzard had in store for us.
