Give us free respec!

Blizzard, you if you make changes in our skills, you must give players free respec option.

This is ridiculous…

Do you guys even think what you are doing?

100% agree with this, respecs in general and the QoL surrounding them need a lot of work. One of my major bug bears in D4 is class flexibility. If I want to be able to play Fire/Ice/Lightning on one day I should be able to easily switch using profiles I have setup for a reasonable cost. If I want to switch to another of my pre-defined builds the next day that shouldn’t be an issue. Spending 45 mins and 15mil gold to respec just because I want to use different skills on a given day take a huge amount away from the game. I think it’s the single biggest improvement they could make and will allow true class flexibility and enhance the “fun” of trying new builds.

It would also eliminate a lot of the build copying that happens, I guess people feel because of the time/cost needed it’s easier to use a pre-made build that they know works for the most part. A lot of the fun I derive in the game comes from playing about with different builds but DAMN it has cost me a lot of time / gold to do that and it doesn’t need to be that way.

The question becomes, why wouldn’t Blizz want to open this up and allow people flexibility in their class builds ? I don’t know.

I think the reason for that is to keep in game currency valuable.

But if they change something in our skills, free respec should be mandayory…

I don’t agree a lot with you guys. If you want to respec you’ve to pay some gold and honestly, farming also 20 millions gold at the moment takes you just a few hours, maybe a day. It’s part of the game for what i think.

Experimenting can be still be costly, but once you’ve found a build that works you should be able to lock it into a profile, maybe you have 3 profiles per character or something right ?

Then you can easily switch between them for a reasonable gold cost (2-5 mil or something)
And if you want to build outside of those profiles, it’s full cost because that becomes experimenting again.

  1. This still maintains the value of in game currency.
  2. It makes it prohibitive enough that you can’t switch 10 times a day every day i.e. abuse it.
  3. It eliminates the huge amount of time needed to totally unspec & respec the entire paragon board, skill tree and gear which is also an error prone process and needlessly laborious.
  4. It opens up the class entirely for play.

and as the OP requests, if there are significant balance changes, a free respec (especially in its current state) isn’t an unreasonable request.

Yes IF you want to respec due to change build or poor choice, however we talk about a respec due to Blizzard changing the game so it’s not YOUR fault you have to do a respec I would say give us 1 free respec for every character and after that it’s again paid
