Here is why I like D4 and keep playing

this is my first diablo game. played around 100+ hours (Rogue)

  • decent combat mechanics
  • not forced to grind all day long or paying more money to make a progress in the game
  • more time left to live in real life (not much content and thats a good thing for some of us)
  • a dev team that listening players and constantly improving the in game experince

and yes Im aware of there is a lot to improve and fix but yeah. I really enjoy playing d4 and will keep playing . maybe I can try different classes and builds until the next season.

If I could playt it… The desconexions for using the teleport makes the game unplayable. It began to happen after 1.1.1, and patch 1.1.2 did not fix the issue

You must be joking. But it makes sense as you said this is your first diablo game. You basically have no reference or experience from previous Diablo games to compare.

If patch 1.1.0 felt like improvement to you then you must be a very confused human being.

yes I have no references from other diablo games but I have references from other action rpgs or mmo rpgs. they are ā€œget a lifeā€ games but d4 has really good potential to be more player friendly game in time.

That is the problem… Diablo fans donĀ“t like, in general, the MMO style… And if I want to play a MMO game, I would play WOW or other game, not Diablo.

for people like me (casual players) its not that important whether its an mmo or an action rpg as long as we enjoy (and it doesnt take all our time to play like 10 hours / day)

If you would actually understand the itemization, the D4 has currently in place, you would realize that this is not a game for casual players as to get best in slot gear will take forever (uber uniques never) and at the end it is still a shallow imitation of what a great items and endgame looked like (meaning chasing the exceptional items over time like it was done with runewords in D2R, and that was 20 years ago).

Good for you that have your life and being satisfied with the games that have very low standards. Sounds like you really are the target audience. Don’t forget to spend your hard earn money on garbage just because you can lol. And then boast about it how happy and proud of your ā€˜ā€˜investment’’ are.

Maybe you should give a go to D2R so you have an idea how a good itemization looks like. And do some research before hand so you know what items (runewords) you are going for from the beginning for each class/build and see/experience the difference in game-play and overall experience.

But then again, it’s hard to sum up experience of 1000s of hours into few sentences that would actually do it a proper justice.

I have my life as many other players do as well why you should be curator of it. Because of ppl like you many great games has been completely destroyed WOW is just one of many. So ppl that can’t put a hard work into anything but want to compare themselves with ppl that put 1000s of hours into it.

And btw I have stopped playing D4 on 20th of July was waiting for 1.1.2 to drop tried rogue but managed it to only lvl 9 or 10 and uninstall the game as at current state this game is absolute waste of time. Waiting for season 18…

well, this is a very well thought out good answer that gave me a new perspective (I mean it)

Interesting. Pretty much everything you like about it is opposite to my experience in game and caused everyone I set out to play with to stop playing.

  • Combat mechanics are still broken. Resists and other fundamentals do not work.

Good example. I was just in a T4 dungeon. I was attacking at spider matriach for about 15 minutes that just kept full healing itself. Then the game glitched with something like a lag spike and it was dead.

Just after that 3 of us (I am 77 they were around the same) were on one of the turn in world quests after getting 100 essences from creatures. 3 elites spawn. We immediately kill 2. Then the last one was totally unkillable. It was taking virtually no dmg and then full healing. We just gave up and logged out in the end. Normally they are pretty easy but some just seem to have a broken mechanic.

You will learn for yourself about the grind if you want to get to the end game. Diablo is literally about grinding, it is all it is. But it is normally fun to do and you get a drip feed of reward along the way for it. That is currently not working since the patches.

I dont know if the devs are listening or not. I suspect they are but considering they released it like this, just have no idea what to do to fix the game. They also seem to be losing people and recruiting new so who knows? But given the state of it, I am not sure it matters for the moment as it will take a long while to turn this ship around.

I am glad you’re enjoying it. Nice to have a different perspective. Initially it seemed promising. A lot further in and with some really bad patches and nerfs etc killing off viable characters, I find it hard to see an upside.

maybe it was wrong to share my opinions before spending more time in the game. I also respect those who have much higher expectations from this game. but for now as a casual, Im having fun and hoping this game to be improved as soon as possible for players like you.

I genuinely enjoyed the experience too, up until around lvl 60 and now I am bored, my only options are pushing to lvl 100, with no real reason to do so, and hoping shako drops, which it never will lol

guess I was kinda lucky got all my uniques and crucial items around 60s

I have a strong build and the two uniques I needed for my build, im talking about the uber uniques… Essentially i’ve maxed out the game and the only thing I have left to do it reach triple digits through endless NM spamming ><

or you can try other classes and builds. even make your own build who knows… but yeah there could be daily quests, daily special dungeons, new bosses with new mechanics and 1 v 1 , 3 v 3 pvp arenas to make the game more interesting

decent combat mechanics

Generator-spender is limiting the gameplay. The game is made so that you have to play their combos instead of giving your freedom.

not forced to grind all day long

You are actually if you want to complete your build.

or paying more money to make a progress in the game

You realize the game is 70 euros? Why would they have freemium system? You are happy they don’t scam you, okay man, this is like something very normal if you aren’t a predatory scum company.

more time left to live in real life (not much content and thats a good thing for some of us)

You realize the goal of a game is to be played and not to allow people to play less?

  • a dev team that listening players and constantly improving the in game experince

They are listening then they implement their own version of the fix, which turns out to be bad.

Conclusion: You seem to be a smartphone freemium player and a casual. You just put yourself in the one category that should have no saying on games because you don’t play it much and don’t play enough to understand how they work. It’s fine that you enjoy the game but don’t think your opinion is relevant. It’s not.

That’s not very nice. The OP’s opinion is just as relevant as anyone else’s… Regardless of the fact that D4 actually is a dumpster fire and to anyone who has a semi functional brain, it is obvious he has absolutely no real idea what he is talking about.
