I am from South Africa, ive seen a stable 220ms ping during the rest of the day but in the evening after work between 18:00 - 21:00 the game is un playabel with a ping of 1200 - 2200

Yep at its worse around 19:30. I have tried everything. Same problem South Africa. I think this is South Africa connecting to EU servers. Its unplayable. Internet , jitter everything is perfect but the game lags from 18:00 until 21:00
Its by design, they redirect us from EU to whereever randomly when EU busy instead of just investing in more server space in EU(ie spread the load to non prime time regions). You can check your own fenris log to see where you were queued. Tonight, looking at logs of my DCs, they tried to dump me in australia and another attempt was USwest, both the farthest places from us resulting in DCs. I don’t understand why they just can’t leave us on EU. Last week on patch day I landed up in asia with a 4k ping.
I don’t agree by design, yes we will have a latency of around 200 but that’s about it. I never had such problems with diablo3. this only became a problem since season 2. But I do think refunds are required if blizzard can’t provide a game that’s usable outside of EU.
OK so I just saw, there is a huge FB SA community who have been frustrated with game lags and disconnects, many stopped and gave up since around mid NOV. What ever the problem is I don’t think blizzard will care considering where they would rather invest time and funds. All you can do is request refund, hope season3 is better, or play a different game like Baldurs, POE2 etc.
Yeah, I say by design as in, the code has been written/script/whatever that is allowing it. Whether thats an error or not, well, its doing it regardless, we are being dumped everywhere but the closest lowest ping servers available.
That said, my honest opinion recently is that we, as in, all sub saharan gamers on the continent, need to stop throwing our money at companies that refuse to support us locally. I’m guilty of it too. There are many many many small/medium size companies that give us local servers on the continent, eg, poe. We should be supporting these companies that give us local servers as they support us, instead of fighting latency issues with multibillion dollar companies that only hashtag ‘support’, take our money and then ignore us until the next expansion is ready.

I have the reconnecting to d4 issue my latency ranges from 70 to 5,000 plus here the kicker my xbox series x console loads the game in under 30 seconds but i still like to play on computer they’re on the same network and my computer takes up to 5 mins to load and that’s from a ssd when i use the way points it will boot me back to the character select screen then take up to another 5 mins to load
Are you from South Africa. I just don’t understand this connection lag issue, its not system not internet speed related but region to EU or something. Any other game is fine.
