Let’s start with the good.
I think the end game is by far the best it’s ever been. We have multiple end game activities to choose from and they mostly feel good to run (even if you don’t count nightmares) .
I like the undercity as well. Nice to have a place to target farm. Doesn’t take much time, it’s different and fun.
I love that they added a party finder, that was sorely needed, even though i think it needs some work, more on that later.
I also love that they added a way to unbrick equipment as that was by far my biggest gripe with the game.
I think nahantu looks beautiful and is a good size as well. Classic and nostalgic setting, can’t go wrong.
Even though we all wanted a paladin, the new class is great. Fun to play and many different styles. Also important to mention, big props to blizzard for letting us have fun with overpowered builds and not nerfing the fun out of it (i know they nerfed evade but i think we can all agree it could be way worse, we still have many op builds).
The torments feel a lot better than the world tier system. There is a real feeling of progression now as opposed to a feeling of wasting one’s time when trying to get to world tier 4.
Now what i feel is not working.
I like that mythics are harder to get, they are in a good place i think. They were way too easy to get last season. But legendary ancestral drop rates need to be buffed imo. They are abysmal. I’m currently sitting at paragon 221 and only some of my uniques are ancestrals. All of my legendaries are imprinted 750s still, doesn’t feel great. It feels backwards that unique ancestrals are easier to find than plain legendary ancestrals. As a result, i have a feeling i wouldn’t be having such a great time if it wasn’t for the fact that SB is so op this season.
Legendary rune drop rates also need to be slightly buffed imo. I’m getting none most of the time even with tribute of harmony and most of us don’t have the time to log on every time there’s a world boss.
The world boss not showing up on the map needs to be fixed.
Walkers feel like a chore. Don’t like doing them.
I like the addition of raids but i think the dark citadel takes too long to clear for the rewards we get and it’s very hard to clear if you’re not playing with friends. Which brings me to the party finder, which is probably my biggest source of frustration this season.
I get that blizzard doesn’t want the party finder to turn into a trade hub (though i don’t see why we couldn’t have a trade section within it) but if you won’t let us write our own description then at the very least we need new options. Here’s a few suggestions:
“Have a general idea of what you’re doing”
“Experienced players only”
“Know how to beat the boss”
Can’t tell you how many times i’ve tried and failed to clear strife during the boss because some guy teleports back with the green thingy and runs around the stage like a headless chicken cause he doesn’t know he’s supposed to use it at the top of the stage to take away the boss’s invulnerability. It’s happened so many times that i straight up gave up on dark citadel. The time investment is just too great to end up failing cause you can’t ask for players who know what they’re doing. People don’t seem to want to use chat either so your only option is to pray for people who have cleared it before.
So that’s it. All in all the game is great but still needs some fine tuning. Sorry I went on for so long, guess i had more to say than i originally thought.
