I don’t care about any multiplayer aspects. Going through the campaign is fun, but I notice the game continues even when I open a menu or minimise the game for a bit. Is there a proper way to pause the game?

Dont care but you bought multiplayer? Smart. Well I help you out anyway. Pause = take teleport into city hub.

I’ve been playing the series since Diablo 1, which was single player with some optional multiplayer aspects. Using a town portal to pause is a bit inconvenient, but I suppose it will work. Thanks

This game was announced to be an online-only game when they revealed it… There are no pausing in shared open world online games.
You could pause the game in diablo 3, I miss that

Town portal.
Only reliable method.
You could run cheat engine and freeze the client fairly easy… i mean that is about the only Pause you will get on a multiplayer… lols.
Being honest though as stated above… town portal… but not truly a pause as after a brief afk session the server will time you out and disconnect you. 
The only way to PAUSE an online game is to stop the TIME.
Sorc has not got that spell yet, so out of luck xD
Are you really asking if there is a way to pause an mmo? It’s like asking if it’s possible to pause real life.

There could be a way to pause the game. Blizzard could partially solve the problem by adding the ability to pause when playing a single player dungeon. If possible, please take the issue to the developers. I think this is a good solution and is a kind of consolation prize for those of us who need to pause the game.
It’s not going to happen, ever! MORPG only way to pause is teleport to town. And sit on a bench. That’s why they’re there…
