Dear Blizzard (and community),
Congratulations on creating a wonderful game. I find myself running around the world finding events, dungeons and side quests and just having fun with exactly the stuff I love in Diablo - farming monsters and elites, looking for gear drops, practicing my build. For just a short while I was avoiding the main quest since I wanted to progress it together with my friend, but then I just started progressing a different act while picking up side quests close to me, doing the events that are revealed as being close to me, and running a few dungeons for fun and for the rewards they offer me. I’m now quite a bit over 40 and I’ve started focusing main quest hard in order to get that mount and such. But now I read online that if I level to 50 (which I in all likelihood will - I am probably not close to halfway through the campaign), then the world will be frozen at 50 and my main quest will be about as easy as if I was being boosted by a high level player, final boss won’t be much more than a target dummy.
Now how do I solve this - by casually strolling around the world I’ve played myself to a level where the more I invest in the main quest now, the more likely it is that it’s finale will be a huge anticlimax. I see three solutions, and since I seem to have played the wrong way so far I thought that maybe blizzard has a right choice here for me to pick:
A) Keep playing the campaign, level past 50, close my eyes and just mash buttons in the coolest moments and fights of the campaign so as not to ruin the experience with weirdly unbalanced/easy game play,
B) Realize that my first character is failed for now, play a new character for probably the same amount of game time or somewhat more but just single-mindedly focus on the main quest in order to unlock the stuff that I’ll want to do on my first character (a world tier that scales with his level)
or
C) Somehow turn my experience gain down to 0 (is there a world tier 0?) to offset the fact that while having tons of fun in the game I also gained a lot of levels and thus soon can’t keep playing with meaningful challenges?
Hoping for your advice and guidance,
Mudwaters
