The obvious information that I know.
Overpower adds damage to any attack based on both the current health and current fortification amount.
Taking a level 1 Necromancer with all Lilith Statues the stats are as followed:
Weapon is 13-19, so averaged at 16 in the infoscreen, shield is not equipped.
40 health + 0 fortification + 69% overpower damage + no other damage modifier
With the explanation given ingame, I would assume the final damage of an overpowering attack would be
basic damage of the skill + overpowering damage total value
The first is directly shown as the value on the skilltree
The second would be 40*1.69 = 67.6
Now testing practically on the wolves in the starting area:
- Blood Surge Nova (2nd hit) deals 9 damage (50% attack damage → 6.5 to 9.5)
- Blood Surge Nova overpower deals 44 damage
- This means the overpower damage would have been 35 (twice, so in total 70)
- Blood Lance deals 12 damage (80% attack damage → 10.4 to 15.2)
- Blood Lance overpower deals 103 damage
- This leaves overpower damage at 91
Both dont fit my guess at all, so obviously I must be wrong.
Blood Surge individual hits would have been significantly weaker, total hit damage slightly too high. Blood Lance is way too high.
I dont expect the enemies would have a negative damage reduction on equal levels.
Critical strike damage only applies to the skill damage and will not increase the overpower damage part, which can be tested with Blood Mist - this ability will either hit for 1 damage per tick or overpower for larger sums with critical overpower damage identical to non critical overpower damage.
In the later stages of the game, overpower damage seems to be too lower to the expected values.
Anyone with knowledge about the actual workings of this?
