Developers always avoid normal questions after the campfires. They answer some nonsense all the time. And I’m sure they are not even realize of this.
watched some video on blizzard answering questions and it turned out that at least some of them came from made up people. thing is also that the questions were stupid, as was pointed out; noone would ask those stupid things. presumably they’re still doing it like that, planning ahead what they’ll answer and pretend it’s real cause answering real stuff is tough.
Oh, they are very aware of what they are doing, they are deliberately cherry picking the questions and will never highlight a question that reflects badly on them or the game.
Why do you think they only answer pre-approved questions at game conventions, that is if they do a Q&A session at all. The “out of season aprils fool joke” situation absolutely humiliated them, and they killed off real honest Q&A sessions for good.
Campfire chats are absolutely useless, why spend an hour listening to them make bad jokes and pat eachothers backs, when you can read anything relevant in the patch notes in just 5 minutes.
