Huge Latency Spikes Since Last Patch – Game Feels Unplayable

Hi,

I’ve been playing Diablo 4 since Season 4, and I never had major performance issues. Everything was fine, even at the beginning of Season 7, but after the latest update, the game has become almost unplayable.

The problem:

  • Latency fluctuates between 50 and 200+ ms for no clear reason.
  • When teleporting or moving through the world, lag spikes occur, and it takes up to 15 seconds to stabilize.
  • Sometimes, the character freezes for a second while moving.
  • I tested other online games (including Blizzard titles), and I don’t have this issue anywhere else.

What I’ve already tried:

  • Tested both Wi-Fi and wired connection → no major difference.
  • Changed DNS to Google and Cloudflare → no effect.
  • Lowered all graphics settings to minimum → the issue persists.
  • Used a VPN to change the connection route → didn’t help.
  • Checked the forums and saw that many other players are reporting the same problem after the latest patch.

My system is good enough to run the game smoothly, so I don’t think this is a hardware issue.

Questions:

  1. Is Blizzard aware of this issue?
  2. Is there any ongoing work to optimize the connection and reduce latency?

Thanks

its a $hitshow

crashes to desktop. black screen after teleport. etc etc

and its 100% on blizzards side. just 15 minutes before new season start everytrhing ran fine. they messed something up BIG TIME.

put resolution scalling on intel and balanced it looks like it worked for me didn,t have a crash for 3 hours now

no. its a blizzard issue only.

thousands and thousands of players with the same problem this time. even the console guys.

5 minutes before start of new season everything was fine.

we already updated everything. we already tried EVERY possible thing. nothing works. its a huge bug on blizzards side. they already acknowledged it. but they dont seem to be able to fix it for months. ridiculous.
