Listened to the live stream last week and it seemed really positive. I’m hoping they deliver on the buffs to Sorc & Barb and I mean really deliver on it. Hopefully a few buffs/fixes overall as well as per what they said in the stream. I have to admit I’ll be a bit disappointed if its 1-2% increase on base skills or something like that.
LOL. They looked really bad. Someone ordered them to do that. So far lot of words and not much action.
I don’t think they looked bad… I think they looked genuine and like a couple of guys who felt bad for the overall nerfs across the board. It strikes me that there is some control at play yes and this probably stems from the corp structure at Blizz. If it’s anything like what I’ve experienced you have devs who have ideas and then you have corporate and they are 2 very different worlds. Dev’s will say something… it’s lost on idiot managers and then 6 months later the very thing they said happens. In this case I think it’s a shorter time line so hopefully they’ve been given some freedom to implement decent buffs in 1.1.1… It’s my hope anyway. Even if it’s a fools hope
They guy in the middle was like: what I’m doing here, he surely was rethinking his life choices. Imagine doing the stuff that higher rank wanted and then you need to apologize for doing it. They were kinda sad about that.
ah Joe, man I feel bad for him. He seemed to take the brunt of it like they hung him out to dry. He seems like a good guy. ** the guy on the left even apologized for the handover to him… there was something in that apology for sure.
They could look bad because of 1/10 review bombing, which possibly caused them to do something they do not believe in. Way to shatter human spirit
edit: I would not want to talk to “fans” like this too tbh. On top of the reviews, there were calls to fire and insults. Bad taste after all this and imo not because of the devs.
Them announcing bleed barb buffs the day after I found a Fields of Crimson was pretty pog as they say.
Overall a good talk. Nothing but buffs and idle chatter was kept to a minimum. Particularly enjoyed that younger fellow’s input; he really seems to know his stuff and clearly cares about the game.
Gotta say, I’m really pleased guys. Significant buffs on lots of things (more than I’m able to list quickly) have more than 10 - 50% buffs on all things that were weak. Not disappointed at all guys… GJ

I don’t agree with this, it’s not bad taste, it may be a bit harsh but there’s no way to put it politely, if people are so upset with the release of the game they should be able to rate the game how they feel and not be accused of “Review bombing”.
People that gave the game 10/10 are off their rockers. I cannot perceive how anyone could give D4 10/10 (Or anything over 6/10) but 1/10 / 2/10 feels totally plausible, to me.
Personally after 2 weeks from release I reviewed the game 4/10 in good spirit, but now I wish I had given it 1/10 or 2/10 at most. Especially after watching multiple livestreams, they know the game is bad but they clearly have not listened why.
Nothing wrong with saying “Fire the lot of them” for creating such a bad game, I’ve said it myself and stand by it. They need to go back to the drawing board. Bring back the original team!! The spirit of Diablo has been lost, you can only blame the people they hired for this pile of…
(Diablo 3 had radical changes too, although I have no idea I’m sure that must have involved shaking up the employees).
Anyway, Exilecon Livestream (Path of Exile 2) just started, fingers crossed!
They’ve done almost nothing for sorc and same for the barb.
Barb is still a 3 shout mandatory build so yeah … lol rebalance.
Same goes for sorc, they are either to bad and have no clue what they are developing or dont play the game and only test it on open world mobs. The sorc will recieve some well deserved defence buffs but the class is stil ltrash and unfun to play in my opinion. While other might find it fun I find myself in disgust, you will still have to play in melee range to apply nova. All they did was buff skills ppl dont use like the 10000000th time since release. All they do is buff uunused skills while the class is broken in so many ways.
End game wise vulnerable and crit dmg is king. We have 3 ways to apply it, Nova which is the best way, ice shards which is not that good and and Ice blades which is the worst. They didnt even bothered to rework our Exploit glyph which is crap compared to barb, rogue, druid exploit glyph. At least give sorc and necro the same glyph like the other 3 classes so we can play ranged. Today stream scared me how disconnected from their own game they are. I hope I am wrong but ffs, they did the same thing with the sorc every patch/fix which is buffing unused skills hoping it will be better. They “are scared” to buff classes, ffs do they have a QA team???
wrong sorry, happy to go into detail on this tomorrow AM. But way wrong especially on Sorc
Wrong about what? they said they will “rework” the class, the yare buffing unused skills whilew you still have to play melee range if you wanna do some good dmg. Play druid, rogue and the best of all Necro after you play sorc … see how they feel.
I mained druid on eternal to 100+ and multiple builds. I know how weak sorc is given im playing fire in current season. I’ll go into detail on it in the AM… but honestly Sorc just got seriously buffed especially fire/lightning (in that order)
There is different approach. If I do not enjoy something I just leave. If I see that people try to do or create something positive, I just leave them be even if they caused some inconvenience as they are the ones providing. It is even true for the restaurants, products, gadgets - anything. I do not post 1/10. Someone would really had to go long mile to piss me off enough to grant them 1/10. This is left only for absolute worst scumbags.
In case of D4 the game is functional, has good graphics, animations, open world( which is unprecedented in Arpgs), various systems, mechanics, story, outstanding cinematics and plays nice. Has good gameplay.
It has more advanced audiovisuals than any other arpg on the market.
To me game is 8/10. You do not have to agree with it, it is fine but there is absolutely no chance this title qualifies for 1/10. No chance. It is absolutely unfair to all people who contributed to this title one way or the other. Additionally outcry only intensified because of nerfs, nothing else.
If there was any honesty in those review bombs the score would be around 5/10
I did not like D3 at the time too much, but I just left and came back months later to check out improvements and I was positively pleased. I have waited a bit and gave game another chance.
I see a lot of reasons why this is wrong. Besides, a sword has two sharpened edges if you know what I mean. If we as group are imposing certain standard or requirement on someone, that means this standard automatically needs to be applied on both groups. If you know what I mean. There is consequence in saying something like this as what goes around comes around.
People, organisations, relationships evolve and change. People move on to different things. It is unplausible.
I would be happy that anyone cares really and that there are people who are still making this toy.
Never good. Kills the spirit, autonomy, creativity and contributes to turnover which contributes to loss of talent and ultimately experience.
I stand by my statement: bad taste after all of it, but not because of the devs.
C’mon dude, you dont have to be a rocket scientits to see it. They are buffing base dmg on skills that scale with lvl and gear a bit, while Vuln is multiplicative and boosts your dmg to the high heavens. You wanna do dmg you have to spec Nova. Even if the new skills will work and do good dmg you still have to play melee. I will give credit where cretit is due but this is not the case.
The problem is the game could have 10/10 graphics, music, story, ambience and so on but if the game is not fun to play it should be 1/10…
Sadly for graphics, music, story, ambience and so on Diablo 4 fails. So a score below 1/10 is totally valid. But anyway…
Additionally outcry only intensified because of nerfs, nothing else.
Not really… yes, they took away the sliver of fun people were having at the most ridiculous time, the illusion faded and people finally made up their mind about the whole game, if you read the 1/10 reviews on Metacritic the majority of them had nothing to do with the nerfs, but more lack of content/story/ambience, once the illusion fell people stopped for a moment and made up their minds about the game as a whole.
Yes, player grief spiked the instant they released the nerf, but that spike was nothing compared to the consistent bad critisism the forum had from release until the nerf (I’ve been watching).
Once the illusion is lost its never coming back.
Never good. Kills the spirit, autonomy, creativity and contributes to turnover which contributes to loss of talent and ultimately experience.
They just need to try harder next time. Let’s hope they learn some lessons for Diablo 5 because I cannot see how they can salvage Diablo 4
Edit:
There is different approach. If I do not enjoy something I just leave.
Most people do, Google says 93% of consumers stop using a product without a single word. I was one of those people… This is the first time I have ever reviewed a product or complained, that is how bad I feel Diablo 4 is.
It is not.
There is consequence in saying things like that. Life is double-edged sword.
There is consequence in saying things like that. Life is double-edged sword.
Consequences are not always negative
Those with lessons, usually are.
True, the lesson in this case is to resign the Diablo franchise to an incinerator. That is indeed the negative consequence of Diablo 4, the fault of the developer. Another consequence is the loss of customers, like me, who could have invested a lot more into the franchise over the next few decades of my life. Now they will not get 1p. Potentially hundreds of millions lost.
The positive consequence? Time will tell. I don’t have even a sliver of hope that anything positive will come from Bliz***d without a major shakeup. Heads should roll.
