I won’t buy the game if blizzard maintains this insanely strict OS support.
What a power trip. I’m not wiping my system drive so bliz can pass the buck onto customers who are paying them AAA price instead of working on compatibility themselves. No other game expects this.
Can we get an official response that you wont support Windows Entrerprise with latest version so i can stop checking this post and uninstall the game ?
thanks.
Your “old” build is up-to-date. Just like if I took a Windows 7 iso, installed it, and updated it fully from WU. Yeah it’s up-to-date but good luck getting anything new to run on it.
1809 LTSC is not the latest LTSC. The latest LTSC, at this moment, is 21H2. I can confirm that D4 beta starts no problem on 21H2. The solution for anyone on 1809 still for some reason is to upgrade to LTSC 21H2, or use a normal edition of Windows 10 or 11 on 22H2.
Ya’ll are something else. Did you know D4 is using D3D12, which differs from D3 using D3D9 or D3D11?
There are D3D12 features that are only supported on newer Windows builds. Presumably, someone at Blizzard didn’t take a dart board and just blindly choose 1909 as “the version” to limit.
Stop being silly and just upgrade your OS. If you’re on 1809 LTSC, you lose nothing going to 21H2 LTSC. And if you can’t handle upgrading an Enterprise specialist OS edition that you chose for some reason, maybe you should be using a regular Home edition of 22H2 Windows 10 or 11.
But muh stability bro, you can’t just tell them to actually use the newest version of something Madge /s
It’s like the people complaining that their weak, below minimum requirement, hardware can’t run D4 and why Blizzard is not just making the game for weaker hardware too. Expectations dude, insane.
There’s no way this can be anything but an absolutely unacceptable answer. You require everyone to not only pay you for the game but also pay Microsoft for an upgrade (Sometimes downgrade) to an OS that is supported otherwise.
No. It’s a buyer’s market. not a seller’s market. They want my money so they make sure it runs on my currently supported system, 1809 is that. No support, no sale.

Oh i know what LTSC is and what it is capable of doing. You apparently don’t know and that’s the whole problem. You believe what you want to believe, i don’t care anymore. Espionage724 even explained it to you in detail. If you still don’t get it you should switch to a consumer windows version.
If that makes me a blizzard bot in your or rather f1ankers eyes then whatever, i’ll be one until you guys realize, that just because you run something that is called LTSC won’t mean you will be able to use it forever with features that just aren’t included in your damn LTSC version.
If you don’t know what you’re talking about… don’t talk at all
using Dx12 in itself is not the problem, it’s a function for dx12 that 1909 introduced which just isn’t present in earlier versions.
EDIT: I’ll expand on that since it seems people just don’t care enough to actually search for it
There’s one very simple reason Windows 10 version 1909 is mandatory and that is the Agility SDK. That SDK allows Devs to ship games with the latest dx12 update which has been shipped by windows updates before. Which meant devs had to wait on windows to implement the latest tech or the users needing to update to the absolute latest windows version. They did away with that, the only thing you need now is at least the windows version 1909.
