I just need to rant about S4

Imo season 4 has created a large unneeded amount of rng, ive spoken to alot of my causal playing friends and they all feel held back due to it. But at the same time, i feel we may as well just start the season at lvl100 due to how easy it is now.

Tempering, affix rerolling and masterworking. On the surface is fresh and new but really its just a gatekeeping system to slow down your progress with added RNG.

Rouge core aug is a perfect example, 5 options yet each of them is required for a single build. I bricked over 6 swords in a row n only saw 1 low roll for rapid fire, even after that you still need to roll the other temper. I cant even count the amount of weapons and items i bricked because of needing Golem damage, its a 1/3 yet i very really see it.

Even if your lucky enough to roll your tempers, you best hope your affixes are what you want because if you have to reroll that too, good luck. Ive literally spent over 400m on a single necklace to finally get a +1 rank, since then seen the same +1 3 times. How come we only get given 2 options and even with those 2, you can still be given the same if not a lower stat than you already have on it.

Then after those two, you now have masterworking. If your the type who doesnt care about where your crit rolls land its fine. But if you want all 3 crits on the same stat, you best have great rng or deep pockets. Ive spent over 100m rerolling a chest with GA golem mastery, just to end back at 4/12 because the 2nd roll would never crit on mastery.

3… 3 rng checks to make one item possibly good… and at any point can brick or become extremly expensive rerolling.

In turn this has created a very broken gold economy, requiring a third party website for buying and selling items. Opening the flood gates for gold sellers.

The “new” uber boss isnt worth doing, invulnerable stages for no reason and requires a item from the most annoying boss beast in the ice. For the same drops as duriel.

Adding the tormented fight was pointless imo. Sure its requires a few less items to summon for 5 drops, but also requires one of the rarest items the stone, easily aquired by running a alt through wolf levels. But its so much easier running a 4 man party each gathering duriel mats n just one shotting normal duriel. Then you also dont have to deal with the pain of seeing 4/5 of the same unique from one kill.

The upgrade to helltide is great but also just becomes a blood maiden farm eventually.

I feel that blizzard is failing to add any real content and just waiting it out for the expansion…

Diablo 2 got better with its Expansion. D3 got better with its Expansion. Same pattern 23 years later.

I agree with everything you say man. The odds that the player succeeds in the season feels way too small. Some RNG is fine but what they introduced with S4 is just a few layers too much.
