IF your wondering if you should skip alters of lillith act 1 on launch,

on my rogue it took me roughly 40 Minutes to collect all , i started out with 1 and took a timer on it with the map reveal on my second monitor and i just blasted it with ease
so if you wanna do it but think it would take forever, thats just a que for you  spend roughly 40 minutes give or take without being distracted

Worth it for the account wide buff. Saves time later.

It’s abit annoying that some of them are account wide and some are not, so some you can get once… others you need to get with every character you make…

I’ll do all side content first so I get higher level and hope my guaranteed legos last a bit longer ^^. I do zone by zone each and everything mainly because I#m not in a hurry and because i want the game to last a while. Blasting through it in the fastest way possible and having nothing to do after a week tops suxx big time ^^.

Everything that I’ve read about the Altars of Lilith tells me that the stat bonuses (Strength, Intelligence, Willpower, Dexterity & Max Life) as well as the +maximum Murmuring Obols are awarded to every character on the same realm/server the first time you interact with each Altar of Lilith. However, all of your other characters on the same realm/server will still need to find and interact with every Altar of Lilith as well so as to gain both the experience and Renown gains as those are rewarded per character.

But that’s the thing… they will only interact with some of them… not all of them. Only the ones that don’t give account wide bonus, for which it is impossible to know which altar gives a bonus or which doesn’t unless you make a note of it the first time around.

Why would you only interact with some of them? Each Altar gives a stat boost to every character that you have on that realm/server (which is not the same as account wide) but every character you create will still need to interact with each Altar to gain both the experience and Renown that is rewarded. The first of your characters that interacts with an Altar will unlock the stat bonus and receive both the experience and Renown, subsequent characters that interact with that same Altar will only gain the experience and Renown, but again, why would you not want to do that?

Apparently there is NO account wide bonus to be earnt from interacting with Altars of Lilith because the stat bonuses are limited to all characters on the same realm/server. As for knowing which Altar gives which bonus, there are plenty of websites that show the locations of all 28 Altars in Fractured Peaks along with what bonus each Altar gives. Just do an internet search using “Diablo 4 Altar of Lilith locations” and you’ll get a whole bunch of results, most of which have maps for every region (currently only Fractured Peaks is complete because that’s the only region that’s been available to explore during beta).

As far as I can see it’s worth finding and interacting with every single Altar of Lilith with every character you create. The first time you interact with any Altar you will unlock ONE of the following bonuses for ALL characters on that realm/server:
+2 Strength
+2 Intelligence
+2 Willpower
+2 Dexterity
+8 maximum Life
+5 maximum Murmuring Obols

Those numbers will add up as you unlock more and more Altars, thereby increasing the stat bonuses for all of your characters on the realm/server. Plus each character will receive a level appropriate amount of experience and +5 Renown from each Altar they interact with.

Obviously I can’t guarantee that the info I’ve read on every website is completely up-to-date and 100% accurate, so there is the potential for some incorrect and/or out-of-date information. But the point is that the information is out there and freely available for anyone and everyone to read if they want to!

the amount of misinformation around the D4 forums is staggering…

so before we go into the statues there is one important separation to point out:
SOFTCORE and HARDCORE are completely separated!
those two modes do NOT SHARE ANYTHING with each other!
but WITHIN each mode all characters created (no matter if now or in a future season) will share certain things.

Altars of Lillith do 2 things:
1) small bonus (stat, obol limit, etc)
this is PERMANENT and only needs to be done ONCE within a mode (see above). you do NOT have to click statues for this bonus ever again after you have done it once, not even for new seasons!

2) reward some renown towards the current zone’s faction
the renown will RESET for each new season WITHIN that season (this does NOT affect eternal realm characters!).
for that reason you MIGHT WANT to click a few statues while you run by them on the first season character each season to get your renown up for the rewards linked to it.
most of your renown will come from dungeons, strongholds and sidequests anyway so statues could most likely be completely ignored if you want to (we dont have the exact values for renown yet but the devs said that re-farming renown in a new season will be quicker than it is on launch).

Final addition:
Renown has 2 parts to it as well:

  1. character based rewards
these are only gold, xp, etc.
the amount of rewards is fairly trivial and these could be completely ignored and would not make a difference in the long run!

  2. shared rewards
these include skillpoints and paragon points.
you want to unlock these quickly because they are essential to your power but once you unlocked them, you dont need to unlock them again on the next character (within a given season or for chars in the eternal realm and within the mode you play)

i hope this clears things up!

Because after interacting once, you cannot interact with all of them afterwards, only some of them.

Eh? To all intents account wide means same realm/server.

~Sethanor The level of bad literature in that post is staggering.

you can only interact with each statue ONCE PER CHARACTER.
(and since season require fresh characters, those will be able to click them again).
if there were “some statues that cant be clicked with an alt” or something those were buggy and i personally didnt encounter any of those during my testings.

exactly.

there are no “Servers” like in WoW for example.
there are only 2 MODES → SOFTCORE and HARDCORE.
within those realms, altar boni are shared.
so for all intents and purposes “Accountwide” refers to one of those 2 realms.

there are exceptions within the realms though.
for example codex unlocks, transmog etc will NOT be shared between Eternal Realm and Seasonal Characters.
Meaning you have to re-find those each season BUT they will convert from season to the eternal realm at the end of each season.

this means that if you play season, sooner or later you will have everything on the eternal realm as well.
