In the game, gold can be exchanged between players, something normal to be able to trade between players, but this also brings certain behaviors that Blizzard is very familiar with due to his long experience.
since day 1 of the official launch of diablo4 the first bots already appear. and many days before the pages already existed selling bots and other services. something that deeply surprises me that blizzard did not know about. The question here is, did blizzard really hope that this would not happen with diablo4 by allowing the exchange of gold? or is it just an indirect form of paytowin?.
It’s no secret that bots make money, and with that money they buy new diablo4 licenses every time they get banned.
Is gold trading allowed looking for this goal, for some time later to say “sorry, we’ll fix it”?
Or really, despite their long experience, they did not realize this?

Gold is really easy to get.
At level 60 my items sell for 20-30K each.
It’s all relative, after 1 enchant (reforge) the cost is over 1million for some items, it increases exponentially from there. If you were trying to optimise an item you could easily spend 100 million gold and still not get what you wanted.

I’m talking about the illegal sale of gold, not internal trade
endgame rerolls are in the hundreds of millions
…
RMT is gonna happen in pretty much any online game that has some sort of trading system, there is no way arround it. You can battle it and ban tens of thousands of accounts, but like you said yourself, new ones are gonna pop up all the time, its a war that can’t be won. The only way to fight it is for people to not buy from them, and we all know that ain’t gonna happen. Gold sellers exist for a reason; supply and demand. The only other way to fight it is to remove all forms of trading from the game, and do we really want that? Personally i think trading is too restricted as it is.
Unfortunately its just something you have to live with in online gaming.
Yes this is what most people don’t get … There will always be other people who have disposable income willing to pay top cash for top equipment. I just don’t get why everyone is upset about it. Why not just live and let live
