Improve necromancer minion (other improvements)

Please for the love of god sort out the necromancer minion builds on Diablo 4 tier 4 as they die in seconds compared to two and three. I know at a start of each tier it’s difficult but boy I can’t even level up or kill elites and bosses as I die every 5 seconds. Compared to my friend who is a rouge who is killing level 80s/85 when he’s 75 and survives multiple hits where if I go out I just get one banged.

He even went on my account for me to help me and was completely puzzled as each build he did for me with my minions was terrible he recommended I should go bone spear but I want to play with my minions and enjoy the game.

I recommend adding more minion gear, more codex of power minion types. (Can easily be added by finding a bounty target etc) for example for each minion you have alive grants you extra power/health. Also make it so a button on your keyboard or controller makes it so you can get your minions to all target that enemy when you take out the remainder as countless of times my minions have been taking out fences instead of elites

Lastly please add a number minion tally to let us know how many minions have died in battle as it’s very frustrating when using corpse exploration and your raise skeleton to know how many you have left. Oh I almost forgot please add a gem bag and switch it so instead of having to reset you skills you don’t just tap x you have to hold x as I have reset all my skills so many times by mistake even better add a button in the skill tree that is away from the skills that says reset stats.

Your game is truly fantastic but tier 4 for necromancer needs to be looked into again to be much more fair and enjoyable. As the main point of being a necromancer is to have your minions by your side not to disappear every second no matter how many you have

Minions dps do not scale correct with minions afixes on eq and paragons. So you have to wait until next big patch. If they do not fix it in next patch it’s mean they do not fix minions/summoner class. As well as in D3.

@edit I also switch from minions to bone/crit build. And its much better (huge diff), but there are also problems and wrong %dps scaling. For example bone Storm do not scale correct with crit dps, and at all with others dps… Necro have a lot of bugs.

i use skeletons only to spreed blood nova in my blood build. There is no other viable builds for minions. All minions just useless hope they do something with this this is my first game with useless summoner class. In beta minios was good hope they back necro changes.

Granted, I’m far from t4, but - that’s in part because I’m struggling even in t2. I’m not sure who designed the class for this game, or how they intended it to be played, but it’s just not a fun experience even when I manage to make some progress. And I’ve played Necro in both previous games.

Minions suck, plain and simple: they cannot be controlled in any way so they just attack whatever (more often than not, as many targets as they are, rather than with any focus on one or two things), even stuff that’s so far off the screen it’s basically on the other side of the map - even when there’s an entire army right around me turning me into mincemeat. Good luck doing certain event types too, if you manage to pull it off, it’ll be despite your skeletons, not because of them. Minions also hit about as hard as wet noodle. Which would be forgiveable if they didn’t die to everything that glances at them AND didn’t need corpses to be summoned again, at least. But they do, both of those.

Necro itself is also squishy as hell, and also hits about as hard as a wet noodle. Yeah, there are nodes to help with that - but at that point we’re sacrificing our skeletons, you know, the signature things that make a necromancer a necromancer. I don’t want to play a blood-/shadow-/bonemage, I signed up for undead army commander, tyvm. Not that those skills are much better, even when buffed. Corpse explosion is the size of a small puddle, and does not even chain like it used to in D3 - yeah, I know: we need the corpses to summon our undead, see the issue there? It doesn’t really have any strong ranged (AoE) skill either - although, even if it did, targeting still sucks. And you’d want a ranged AoE, because at melee range - it’s squishy as hell and can die to a sneeze. Which is why blood nova is beyond me, because it’s suicide to rush into the middle of the “action”. Not that we can rush much either, because we’re also slow as hell with no movement or teleport type skill at all, and dodge is just woefully inadequate for pretty much everything.

Overall, it’s just weird. Naturally, I am aware of the “alternative” builds: kudos to everyone having fun with those, options are good, and all that. What I cannot comprehend, though, is why they have to exist at the expense of the class’s core identity. Because playing as an actual necromancer, a summoner who commands the undead, is plain masochism at best: even when/if it works, it just barely squeaks by, because it’s hindered pretty much by its every aspect, some of it class-specific, some being an issue with the game overall. The result is that necromancer, the build, just struggles with itself for some reason, and I can only speculate it’s because the devs wanted so hard to make the alternatives viable, that its core got lost in the process.
