During the Dev Endgame stream it was addressed how items can roll with the best stats but are usable at the char level, when the item dropped.
Joseph states “We do have trading in the game”.
Now, lets clarify that. We do not have meaningful trading in the game.
I cannot understand why I won’t be able to trade my “shako”, or if I am unlucky, trade a shako from another player!
Trading does not limit the drop experience. It enriches it. Works just really fine in D2R!

I think, but could be mistaken, that you can trade white, blue and yellow items but legendary and unique’s are account bound.
Considering its eventually going to be yellow items = to lege upgrades because of bis stat combinations,i can see where he’s coming from.
Trading usually ruins the game (bots,rmt etc…)
But on the other hand,trading opens up new possibilities. One of them is not getting bored once you are fully geared . You have reason to play and grind,because all dem shiny items you don’t need,you can sell.
Yes exactly. Whites, blues and yellow are tradeable. But they are not best in slot as far as we know. Especially after we have seen the shiny uniques. So it breaks down to no trading.
And I agree. After you get fully geared, what you gonna do with a lower grandfather drop? Just salvage/ vendor it? Very boring indeed!

Thats what happened on New world when it released, I saw a few streamers gotten over 200,000 gold just like that from their fans.
I think some of legendary are not account bound, you can sell it on auction site for real money, I forgot the name of the site. We’ll see
