Item Enchanting

Has anyone tried the new enchanting adjustments to confirm it may have gotten worst for certain things?

I.E. I have some gloves that I am trying to roll crit chance on. According to some articles, it will be harder to now roll that.

Priority Affixes have been removed from enchanting.
Crit chance is one of these & will not be a guaranteed roll on gloves.
Read here for more info.

That is one of the articles I read it on. Damn, so it is true. :sob: I take it I will have to either spend hundreds of millions of gold trying to get crit chance or just leave it as is with attack speed, which I do not really need.

People are missing the point…

This is for the better, because now you have more stat options when you enchant stuff.

Before patch,I was trying to get vun. on my weapon, and i would most of the time get intelligence and other 2 shitt* rolls .

Now i get different 3 rolls all the time, instead of only 2.

Now you have equal chance of getting everything.

Kinda sucks imo, was nice to find a good ring/gloves that was just missing crit chance and after a few rolls you would have max crit chance :stuck_out_tongue: Guess the rings/gloves I have now will be used till end of season.

But I agree for other items its a positive

This. 100% true. And the problem is that for gloves and rings, that missing crit chance was just too good before.

I don’t think the “fix” is working as intended. I am still having the same stat show repeatedly in subsequent re-rolls. So now we have the worst of both worlds.

I do not think so. During the campfire, people expressed more concern of same stats appearing, but in lower rolls. Which was a huge problem. The other could be fixed by enchanting with another character. If you were looking for vulnerable dmg, you should have just enchanted using a barb.

I am not sure what you mean, though I am new to D4.
The bug fix says "“Fixed an issue where continuously enchanting an item could result in having the same stat show repeatedly in subsequent re-rolls.”
For example, I just enchanted a chest piece 7 times. “+X% werebear skill damage” came up on 3 of those 7 re-rolls, each time with different %s. “+28 strength” appeared twice. “+3 ranks of cyclone armor” appeared twice.
Is this not the same stat showing repeatedly in subsequent rerolls?

Patch 1.1.1 introduced a change to enchanting where priority affixes got removed. That enlarged pool of modificators you can get on every item. That means better for some items like weapon where it will be easier to get vulnerable damage now or chest and pants pieces where it will be easier to get damage reduction now but means worse for pieces like hands and rings where desired outcome is attack speed & crit chance

And the text for that change is as I quote above?
My point is that the change does not seem to be working as intended. So now we have the worst of both worlds - not only are we not getting priority affixes, but also we could, theoretically, get the same stat infinitely. Whereas the text of the change implies that continuously enchanting will rotate through all possible stats/affixes?

Allright, do the batch of 100 re-rolls on three different slot items and prove to us that the fix is not working as inteded.

Otherwise we could just call you… unlucky I guess

Did my example not prove that I am getting the same stat on subsequent rerolls? And therefore it contradicts the text of the change?

You re-rolled 7 times. This is nothing dude

Do you agree that my example shows I am getting the same stat on subsequent rerolls?

Oh, it 100% sucks a lot more if you want to get an item with an affix you want and need. If you ever get perfect gloves or rings without crit chance. Come back and tell us how much you end up spending.

See, before. You could just hop onto another class to reroll stuff lile vulnerable damage. Now, that does not work.

I agree it sucks. But what does the text of the change/“fix” actually mean? Because it does not mean what it says re not getting same stat repeatedly on subsequent re-rolls?

It could mean that they changed the “priority rolls”, lowering the chance of those affixes rolling repeatedly, but not actually changing the mechanics that would allow any affix to roll repeatedly. But this is just a guess of course.

That would mean the patch notes are incorrect, but they are referring to a change they made to address (part of) the issue.
