And OMG it’s bad. What is this power of friendship crap? Why are things so obvious and foreseen? Is this what Diablo has become?? The story is also terrible.
Come on man seriously?

umm… ok. my first question is: why are you playing the story? and how is it that you thought the story wouldn’t be a “heroic tale”? like lord of the rings: frodo and sam, the champions of light reach the summit through the illustrious power of friendship, naturally.
i really… don’t know what u expect. did u expect diablo 1: descent to infernal madness? that’s old, and it wasn’t really a story told, it was a story experienced. u r lucky we didn’t rescue a princess. no one knows how to tell dark stories anymore, and they couldn’t anyway because… everyone hate dark stories. it’s a popular demand thing. everyone who likes stories come for the charms and lights.
i think ur being unfair saying the story sucks just cause u didn’t enjoy it. but i also think u have a fair point:
yes, it is. the root is horror arpg, but the tree is… christmas.
this is not a horror game. i was against this change at the release of d2. they had leaned in to high fantasy and away from dark horror. and away from the simplicity also. the warrior only had one attack… obviously growth was needed but it was the wrong way, it all went the wrong way; the developers misinterpreted everything, imo, making d2, and it was excellent anyway. but they went the wrong way. and so they did moreso with cartoonish d3, and now with d4 they’ve gone back a bit to the root but we’re no where close to how i envisioned this whole genre to proceed. This is the opposite of what i wanted. but whatever… i will murmur about that forever and nothing will happen. they’ve all been successful anyway.
what u don’t like about “friendship”? wtf… that bothers me. what u expect! tell what u think it should’ve been. how it should’ve been? what should the story be about?
u didn’t like the azlan lion? i kinda think it’s cool. it’s some appropriation though, i suppose. what else is there? a promise there’s mephisto at some point. not sure what’ll change with that. nothing… gets a new material: livers of hatred. dw, it works exactly as every other material and it summons mephisto who works exactly like every other boss: u have the dps so it dies immediately, gz; here’s ur bag. come again. if it doesn’t, u need to change ur build until it does. good gamings.
but like, yea; u was in the story? i got no idea what the ‘obvious’ parts were. i was frantically clicking this thing off. what i’ve seen it’s a nice and cozy story with a few terrible things attached. exciting, perhaps, for someone who wants to enjoy a story; which i don’t.
imo, fairness would be that u tell something about what story u would’ve wanted, how that story would’ve been.
if i had told this story… i would’ve told very little like this. i am also not in the ‘friendship power’ audience, but u should be fair and realise that practically everyone can relate to that and feel good about it. few come here for dark murmurs, if anyone. yet this game should be evil portents on poorly lit cutthroat streets. even visiting the blacksmith u should look out for the shadows… that’s how i’d write this, like a horror game; would be hack and slash but also sneak 'em up. that’s how i’m thinking. and that’s “the story”. or how i’d paint the story. i would never have a single cut scene, and there’d be few convos too. more like: ‘we move up here through the shrubbery, flank them.’ or ‘we have to move through the valley to get to the castle, we should hurry.’ or ‘lilith must be slain. we stop her armies at this town before we can prepare an attack on her. move out.’
“d2 high fantasy” is where i stopped reading. d2 walks the line perfectly.
anyway how anyone still expects quality from the current team…
yea well… that’s what it was. still is, very much so. moreso, actually.
and hey, dw about it. never read stuff u disagree with, i don’t. already read it, i figure, and i disagreed. doesn’t make us opposite, just of different opinion.
i think they’re doing an excellent job on the technical side of things and they’re trying their best fitting in their progression models but it’s not at all how i would’ve done it.
Why did you buy game with bad story and no content?
Anyway. Probably you should stay away from buying next dlc
Brother I am old. I have been playing Diablo since the 90s. This game is so off track from what it was to what we have now.
Somehow we went from Dark and Grim to Friendships and Cliche. We went from Unexpected and Twists to Predictable and Boring.
The price you pay for this DLC even on a promotion price vs what you actually get which is run from point A to B and back to A with filler chats between NPCs inbetween points … That’s lazy considering we are talking about a Multi Billion Dollar company.
Guess this is the results of Money with no creation or direction vs the old crew that had compasion and love for something.
i pay for everything. bought all pets. got 20-30 costumes np. i like to pay for my product + feel special, find my perfect style…
i have to click + on you because they do feel cheap towards everyone. there’s not enough specials to be found in the game. and u know that hurts my costume value too because base line is too low.
thing then… i payed, and u payed too. where’s the loot? where’s the game even? if ima be frank: the game is the “seasonal” (read: planned beta testing) events. And I pay extra. And it’s still not done. Might be done sometime, idk. So what’s the potential here that I see? the world… multiplayer open world. it’s the only thing, that’s why i buy in. the only good and original thing, which isn’t even original as it was almost there in d1 also. so was friendly fire, btw. whatever happened, none got the wiser, but wonders of the past may yet come true. i am still a believer.
yes, maybe it is the price. but i don’t blame the artists, i blame management. or… idk even who to blame. i think something radical needs to happen. like that artists work on projects and management f off. and… there can’t be this heavy requirement on profitability and mass targeting. the games has to be allowed to niche and become artistical expressions. the developers are artists held hostage by capitalist management. it makes sense but at some point management has to let go and let artists be artists, i really think so. it’s not making money, this, not like it could. but maybe i’m just an idealistic dreamer. might be that. or maybe the developers are fake artists, using capitalism to keep the real artists from the project? there’s a lot of things wrong with proceedings on this, imo, and most of them are for money reasons which sometimes doesn’t join well at all with artistic expression. Cause it feels like the developers maybe looking on systems of sales moreso than systems of play -.-
Imagine being such a tool to pay 70€+ for basic game and 40€+ each expansion. Weebs love the overpowered cash grab classes.
The devs didnt even bother making proper cinematics to the game, just a couple “somewhat decent”. Compare this to Diablo 2 and Diablo 3, those two had great cinematics and the story was fantastic to follow through because of them.
Poor pissed low quality for the cash grabbing.
P.S
The dumbass above my comment who said the following:

^
This is the reason why gaming industry sucks nowadays. Low iq dumbasses like these putting money to the worst places. Thanks for wasting oxygen.
it’s a hobby, friend.
it’s… not supposed to… idk even what to say to you.
i hope at some point you come together and stop hating on people. it’s fine thinking stuff’s wrong with systems, but stop hating the people, including me.
and… i pay for your game, that’s how it really goes. the production and maintenance cost are bigg. u expect prices from the inception of games but today things cost a bit more. not for u tho, which was the point of these cosmetics. u don’t like it either way and you blame me for agreeing with their business model.
some collect smurfs… do u know what smurfs cost? me neither, i don’t collect smurfs. but i like to collect fashion in games, dress up, and i like it if it’s expensive so that not everyone has the same and when u do find someone with the same u can both go: “hah, cool; we got the same shirt!” instead of that everyone has the same shirt u know, the one with the skull.
honestly, i find your incessant rudeness unacceptable for viewing.
The plot of Diablo 4 is : “dim byd yn glir, ond yn ddiddorol iawn”
or " ничего не ясно, но интересно очень"

another one fooled, thank you for contribution to pay for even more shite :))
