I have tried for the past 4 days to get onto diablo 4 to no avail. The launcher says it is playing and on the task manager you can see the app running but nothing loads up. i have done the scan and repair, deleting/uninstalling and reinstalling everything and still it wont load up.
Lost much in gameplay and the chance to complete the lunar event as well as time with friends on this and it only happened after the last update

Hi, same problem here , AMD card on Win 10, nothing helps (restart/scan&repair/force GPU to 1)
Same problem here. Latest NVidea driver didn’t help.
edit: the solution below this post worked for me, but only for a short while. I just had to repeat the procedure.

Go to your Diablo 4 folder and rename dstorage.dll to dstorage.dllbak. Some people have just removed the file altogether and it still works. But rename it first, and see how it goes. You are welcome, it was not me. Found it from someone who found it from someone who found it from… you get it. Thanks Blizzard for not offerring a solution to this massive problem.

Regarding the update for gfx card, try nvidia experience and search for new drivers, mine is 551.61
WORK AROUND for anyone stuck on “Playing now”
This works for me when Battlenet is stuck at Playing now at it takes 10mins for the game to launch.
Not ideal but much quicker.
Hit play until you get to “Playing now”
Ctrl + Alt + Delete to get to the Task Manager
Then End Task to “Diablo IV Retail” (this may be hidden under the Battlenet 32bit App
Then RESTART your PC from Power Options, DO NOT SHUT DOWN just restart.
The game should then boot from the Play button in Battlenet as normal.
Not ideal but much quicker than waiting 10mins for the game to launch
Something is up with their BNet launcher, I have the same problem with other Bnet games like Warcraft III.
