Could be due to playing on Teir 1.
But I am lv 40 highest lv rare weapon i’ve had is 32 and highest legendary is 27.
Either 2 or 1 hand. Had plenty blues lv 40…
am I expected to use blue gear?
My problem is I have no base damage output, I have to hit skeletons for ages just to kill 1. My cataclysm and lightning do more damage but require power…
I had a few times where I was wondering if I would be able to keep going with my current weapon, I got lucky maybe but always found improvements.
I will say, don’t forget about the random weapon vendor that uses the special currency. I got super lucky on him a couple times that saved me.
AS someone said on another thread Diablo should be about killing a thousand mobs a minute not whacking away at mobs like some pensioner with a newspaper for 10mins. When it becomes a chore its not fun.
I had basically the same equipment from level 20ish to level 50, item lvl seem super random and now at lvl 53 I still find mainly items that are level 42 or thereabout.
Then again, you can’t compare equipment in this game to most other ARPG’s since in this one the equipment doesn’t add as much to damage/armour as it does to how the skills work.
The drop rate is really good. By the time I finished the campaign, at level 50, I had a whole tab of legendarys in my stash and 1 unique.
I definitely used blues if they had key stats, like a main skill+2 or high dps.
Up until level 50 I regularly had a mix of rares and blues, I even swapped a legendary away for a blue because it had health regeneration.
The drop rates are fine.
As for your damage, learn to apply statuses that allow othe skills to do more damage. Like vulnerability and stuns etc.
