I just completed 7 Whispers and got only 1 malignant heart, now i can get a ton of living steel and no malignant hearts, their rng is so dumb, i even had like 5-6 of those rare spawn after events and got everything but the malignant heart, so now i got all mats but cant do Varshan, gatekeep is real
So why not go to the potion guy and craft the boxes? They are friggin cheap you know. Not knowing systems is not gatekeeping. Its RNG, they even added crafting to make it easy. What else you want? Free Shako for logging in?
You can’t craft Malignant Hearts, they are a drop only.
You can craft the other required materials.
What do i even say to this stupidity?

I always get more malignant hearts than the other materials but if I keep crafting with them for the others they will lag behind, and then, of course, I may hit an rng dryspell.
What you can do to deal with this issue is trade, as they’re open to trade. My merchant sells eggs for 23m at this time, or trades eggs for steel at 8 steel an egg. I’m sure it is possible to make arrangements for hearts if you’d look for it.
Steel is currently more abundant than eggs since the drop was buffed. Perhaps to encourage trade then. Because in the beginning, without firepower, steel is harder to come by than eggs which roll in with events and whispers, but as power grows this circumstance reverse and steel becomes more abundant as you crash through helltides with ease.
Before the Living Steel buff, I was getting a lot of Varshan materials drop doing no more or less Whispers than I am now. Since the Steel patch, the drop rate on them is MUCH lower than it was before. Prior to the patch I was stashing on average 3 times the number of shards. Now doing 2 maybe 3 Helltides a day depending on when play, I am now at the stage of having 3 times as many Shards as I do Eggs!!!
Maybe the right ratio would to have had 1 of each of the Varshan materials drop from the 300 cinder Steel chests as well as the 5 steel rather than a chance of having 10 steel drop. Would still be lower rate but at least would be guaranteed some materials to run Duriel still.
Not just myself that has noticed this as it is a constant topic of discussion within the clan (both in game & on the clan Discord server)
I haven’t noticed any decreased varshan summon item drops, only increased steel rates.
But I do stock steel at a much faster pace, legitimizing the steel to egg going ratio I’ve received. Trade into the eggs, it’s worth it I’d say if you’re a leveled player.
The eggs was always slower to me because I kept going to the helltides. Not sure if the buff was justified but it does encourage trading, which is good. Someone has to pay, however, and it will be the lower levels paying the price for high level need for extravaganza. However, it does open up for only playing helltides, which I don’t. You can rest, play helltides, and the grunts will do all events and run about the world to get them eggs. Perhaps it will play out well.
What are you even on about… you need hearts to craft the mats you cant use other mats to craft heart
