until 1 torment - d2 progression/not to slow not to fast, not that mindless but also not super tryhard.
Torment 1 and 2 - D3, blast, fun, casual friendly, mindless grind, own casual league, space for experiments and planing before next step, easy going etc etc. (kinda like it is now overall)
Torment 3 and 4 - D1 approach, even after the mindless gameloop from previous two torments will strike casuals with boredom so here is the thing. Mastering the builds, tweaking the gear. Difficulty of monsters/bosses rise not only with special attacks but ai etc etc also return of scaling monsters difficulty along with paragon points. Extra story lines that wont feel trivial even after. More specialized gear/item types (not necessary stronger). (PS: because i consider this division be inefficient - i would put something like "every 10 paragon points = +1% drop rate quality, starts from paragon 200)
With overall division like that you can be more accurate with approaching different types of players. These who have not much time to relax, these who have a little bit more time to relax but got bored on just casual gameloop, and blasters.
let’s take a sanctification as an example.
a) - non
b) - from white to legendary (why on white/blue/rare items? i explained it in different topics) here and there Barbaric system from caveman - PC General Discussion - Diablo IV Forums
c) - all others above legendary (IF can be done on certain type to keep the balance)
PS: Add 2 minutes to pit timer right now

sure, i also think that the first part is good but that the middle part is the best one, excellent.
the end is a bit tedious. and yes, i consider t3-4 the end of d4. beyond that is just the extra of the extra, uninteresting to everyone but the most prominent of grinders; for those of special gaming interest.
and also, you, everyone, can absolutely reach the end very quickly following a few certain steps.
overall i think they’re doing a good job with the game. but it’s not the game i would make.
still great. a finely crafted random journey. as with all things, however, it does end despite the developers doing their best to let it continue forever.

i wont say that middle part is the best one. But it’s like going to local shop…You can “try/see” everything available to you, test things out if you enjoy/serve what you need at certain point and let’s say you picked up the best tea flavor that suits your preference but you may thing that “huh, it;s very good but i would rather enjoy it more if there would be like 5% less earl grey in that tea without lose the quality” and here it comes T3-4 like online shopping/supermarket where the choices are vast. Soooo…for regular shopping you still enjoy your local store but you know that for this particular tea you need to go there.
Mastering builds* - "oh i made an effort to get my super favorite tea but now the cookies i used to like with previous tea doesn’t taste this good with the new one, you save in armory “this with that is good” and keep searching in local store and supermarket the cookies you may enjoy more with new tea. And that’s the best part for me…journey(not meta) and pvp. How this relate to pvp? - imagine…you have 4 variants almost of the same build(saved in armory) *dedicated to single target, multiple targets, cc focused, other. Each one allow you to shine on pvp/tvt either you want to engage in fights strongly or just messing around. in other words…when you want to impress guests you serve them this cookies with this tea, other(almost the same) tea with other cookie(almost the same).
Of course each set has it;s own pros and cons but doesn’t feel like it’s unplayable.
So if they will tell you that “we don;t want to all builds feel flat” it;s like saying…well, you wont impress your guests with anything else than “super cookies”(meta)
DO NOT add more time to the pit. The rest are good ideas. The dev. not got to listen because they got thier mind set on whatever they are doing. Soon ot later they have add some challenging contents.

sure but i asked a 2 mins more for pit timer for “c/d/e” tier builds. I know it;s for measurement…but let;s say “us” the meeh tier builders availability to push 2-3 pits lvl more is always something for us. But you are right that i could specify that below 80lvl of pit this would be nice addition for average experience which i didn’t consider before about overall outcome of this request.
