Memory leakage?

Anybody get memory probelms/crashes?
Have Gpu 1060 6GB, 32GB Ddr4, Ryzen 3600 and got several time game crash with some memory issues. I saw that game took whole 6GB of Gpu and 25GB of Ram.

There are a lot of memory problems…Like windows consumes 7.2 and when I play d4 the memory caps at 15.9 from my 16gb …

Terrible optimization issues but it’s only beta

I have 8GB VRAM 32GB RAM and in closed beta I had very frequent out of memory crashes.

Now this time I have only encountered one.

I did reduce some graphic details just in case if the assets take too much and are leaking or whatever.m

No way in hell this game consumes more than 8gb ram…I mean my video card sits at a 70 degrees not even close to what POE does to her, with 16% usage and my RAM screams let me out of this madness , when from 7.2 starting diablo we go to 15.9 in the character screen … Poorly optimized, but I like it how they do not stress the video card. Mostly because my video card is a GTX 960 from the era were Inarius was still in the High Heavens.

I reduced also the textures quality to medium and then RAM went from 25GB to 16GB usage, and seems less crashes.

Yeah I remember in closed beta it helped a bit.

Seems like it’s better now but could be better I guess.

The games minimum requirement of VRAM is 4 GB, I have only 2 GB on my Geforce GT 1030 card, which it maxes out immediately but I can get into the game and play for few seconds then I get the out of memory error. My sys has 16 GB ram, and it peaks at a little over 12 when I get the out of memory error. The computer will use up to 8 gb of virtual GPU but I guess it gets maxed out by the game pulling too much memory once the 2 GB is used up??

Same here Erorr!

6700K
16GB RAM
GTX1070

Hit play, and then game crash!

on friday, i have it with my system too. RTX 3090 [24GB] and 32GB RAM.
at saturday i reinstalled the latest Nvidia drivers and i can play saturday and sunday without memory error or other serious errors.

But what I fear are the typical lags, jerks, rubberbanding and micro jerks like in Diablo 3, when the servers are full and many gamers want to play.
If this beta would have been freely accessible for EVERYONE - as for example Diablo 3 showed it again clearly at the start of the current season, the problems could have been much more serious and almost no one would have been able to test / play properly.

But yes - D4 looks like to have memory problems!
it occupies 19GB to 21GB in the graphics card memory - how good that the 3090 - 4090 have so much of it and in addition a fat load in RAM.

Yeah, clearly a memory issue. Seems like VRAM to me. Especially when the recommended GPU was only a GTX 970.

well that’s why there are gradations of quality. for low resolution and graphics settings - really everything at a minimum - a GPU with 4GB Ram is enough, even if the GTX 970 has enough with 3.5GB.

If you want to have everything at maximum, the best of the best, stronger hardware with more memory is of course required.

It actually sounds logical. The more beautiful, great, better the more data.

from my side you could go and make a setting for minimum requirements where everything is deactivated that eats performance. where the game looks at what the hardware is capable of. The game doesn’t look pretty at all, but it works.

and then there should be a setting that gets the very last bit of perfection out of the graphics on high-end machines.

For everything in between, you should then be able to set everything manually as you would like it to be - the system keeps an eye on the individual settings and effects on performance and memory utilization and deactivates certain features if necessary because the GPU with the selected settings no longer works works perfectly together.

something like that would definitely be possible.

Or a button = check my hardware and give me the best settings that are possible with it. Kind of automatic configuration.

currently it runs quite well on my “old box” with Xeon E3 1230 v3, 32GB RAM, RTX 3090 FE. Except for micro stutters when leaving the cities out into the zones or when changing zones. But these are certainly not problems from my system but rather problems from the server. Think this will get worse later when more players are online.

Unfortunately, this has been the case with Diablo 3 for many years. The more players there are on the servers, the more lags, rubberbanding, loot drop delays, stuttering and other problems there are.

I also noticed that it jerks slightly every time other players come into my field of vision.

It’s incomprehensible to me why there isn’t an offline mode like Diablo 2 Ressurected or the possibility to play alone like Diablo 3.

Above all, an offline mode would massively relieve the server, which would benefit all players. you can separate battle.net accounts / offline accounts like in diablo 2 times. would most likely not have been a problem. Of course you can’t solve various tasks in d4 but ok. an offline player would have to live with that if he didn’t have the full gaming experience.

if the VRAM of your graphics card is full, the graphics memory is swapped out to RAM. If the RAM is full, it is swapped out to the virtual swap file and if this is also full, your system will say goodbye with a blue screen.

You could try increasing the paging file to 75GB and see what happens then.

I noticed that at Tombraider with an SLI System (2x GTX 980) and 16GB RAM. As soon as the VRAM + RAM was full, the computer shut down and rebooted. A blue screen was seen for a second.

So I upgraded to 32GB and haven’t had any crashes since.

Check the GPU usage in the task manager under performance.

Under GPU memory you will see that 50% of your RAM is allocated to the memory of your graphics card. Next to it is how much RAM is reserved for your GPU.

with 16GB RAM there is not much left for your operating system + Diablo 4.

It’s receiving server info about other players assets.
You got the stutters when hitting new areas? or lots of other characters?

That’s and easy fix for them, that will be resolved on launch.

They can texture pop in after the server gives the information, over us stuttering.

There is definitely an issue with utilization in both Memory and Vram, from my experience so far it seems to not flush, remove unused or unneeded assets until the systems utilization is maxed, it just keeps loading on top… This should have been caught in the Alpha Testing?

i got same problem during beta, memory usage on my system went to the roof (i have 32Go) i had multiple crash, then i switched video details in game from HIGH to Medium, and then it was OK

Graphic card: Zotak RTX3070
SSD 1To Samsung Evo
32Go DDR4
2k screen

i’m surprised to not see any info on this for next patch, or any blue message about it because i can see a lot of people having this issue, even streamers
