They won’t bring them back in D4.
Since they made it MMO they want you to party up with other people; so they see no need for mercenaries anymore.
I do not agree with this but it is what it is.
but its not easy to link up with people in game imo, I play with others via Discord just because its easier
but don’t have to many mates cause you can only play with 3 of them
Yes please add mercs. Since Diablo has mercs!

Mercenaries are Npc’s which follow you around and have been present in every Diablo since Diablo 2, every act within the diablo series in general except for Diablo 1 had the ability to hire mercenaries for a cost (and you could also equip them) which was very nice for obvious reasons.

But these are all topics that can branch off energy at some point later and find their way into the game.
Blizzard currently has a huge mountain of tasks ahead of it.
The core mechanics of the game have to be fixed up first, which means the whole game will have a different gameplay and feel afterwards.
One can only hope Blizz does not make the same mistake as x times in the past and creates only the carrot on the stick in front of the nose of the players and builds an eSport game and thus an endless tower.
D4 needs the change to a way as a target game and for this class systems, skillings, resource system, scaling, item system everything must be realigned and partly massively rebuilt.
And those are just the core elements for now, which will lead to other things.
Separates the Seasons as a fun park and competition on from the ER as a deep RPG…
And then, at some point when the game runs reasonably and every skill in the different skill trees of the classes feels good and as a separate skill not designed for balance is suitable as a main skill and the game experience changes every time and the gameplay is different to get out of the monotony, then you can slowly take care of things like mercenaries.
Whereby mercenaries properly implemented, mean an enormous effort.
Please gib Mercs blizz overlords!
Always used my boy Kasim in D2
Man was it cool in D3 when you met Cormac - warrior of the templars the first time. He was my choice, he had also a few good lines of text on him.
Hope he is fine, would be good to meet him in D4 later on. We got the Archer Merc at least, Lyndon, thats nice!

D4 ain’t an MMO. It’s just a poor attempt at a shared open world ARPG.
Which they still haven’t added the proper tools for. You have to go through multiple menus and honestly, the menu system in this game is horrific…
I definitely support the mercs system being added again, along with an off-line’ish mode where you can play with friends only.
