You can’t seriously mean the target lock on should not force my minions to attack the target i’m locked onto? I can’t kill treasure goblins at all. My skellies fights EVERYTHING ELSE! Do u realize how weak i am when they don’t attack my lock on target? Cmon…
yeah minion control needs a lot of work
a lot of times in boss battles, my skeletons are trying to attack invulnerable enemies or walls that a boss skill placed
i have managed to kill every treasure goblin ive seen though. just.
mostly by running after it and spamming blight before it can teleport away.
If this was the biggest issue … how far in story you are? I reached t3, and must admit minion build is worthless… while i havent got major issue with t2 capstone, t3 just regular packs wrecks minions pretty stupidly.
Skeletons - they need major boost to life (like at least 40% from now), some boost to damage too (So low even with all passives in tree).
Mages - only cold are somewhat decent, they have “ok” damage, and restore essence. But their life again, needs some boost.
Golems - ok, this one is really ok from start. But even this one needs some love. Really, I choose necro because of minions, I didnt choose necro to play bone spear + other spells. If I wanna to play caster for primary dmg, there is sorceress for this.
Imagine you start exploring world in t3, and run in two common packs, skellies dies pretty fast even when golem taunts. Imagine engaging 2-3 elites. You end up ressumoning minions all time. And then you eventually run out of corpses
so im heavily disappointed that blizz cant deliver a good game for a basic 70€.
The easiest fix is to make all minions focus the enemy you last basic attacked, the primary target in the case of Multiple Target Decompose, Bone Splinters, Enhanced Hemorrage & Reap.
I bet in the first major balance patch they won’t be able to do it, I am confident the people who actually made the good parts of the game have left the company. Minions will be alright to play in endgame after Season 4.
When you drop an item that creates a skeleton using the corpse explosion spell, you’ll see that the problem applies to that as well. Skeleton targets everything else, not the boss. And even if you don’t go under the minions, Necro still has a problem with the AI of other spells. Seriously, there is a unique item that causes the “corpse explosion” not to explode in place, but creates a minion that runs towards the enemy and explodes there (generally honey), but the AI is like a minion. I spammed it under the boss, they ran and exploded under the creatures around, and the boss was untouched…
If someone writes to me again, change the build, I will probably ask for a refund xD … I will not change the build 4 or 5 times, because I have neither items nor materials nor cash anymore…
And D4 was supposed to introduce a variety of builds, and currently the Necromancer only has 1 playable that can be used in WT4
