My Problem with Dungeons

At first: I realy liked the beta of D4 and i think it will be a great game BUT i see a big problem in the lategame if the dungeons stay as they are.

Here are the reasons:

  1. First and most importand one: They all feel the same: Get the keys, kill some monsters. Also the layout is most time the same: For example 1 big door right and left way to the keys… They dont even feel random generated
  2. They are much to linear: Most of the time there is only one long way. No dead ends, nothing interesting to explore no (or very small) side rooms
  3. Only one floor. I dont think all dungeons need more floors but some of them should have more. In older Diablo Parts i loved the feeling of comming with every floor deeper and deeper in the pit of the nightmare :smiley:
  4. They are generally to small. They feel more like the mini caves in D3 then real dungeons like halls of agony in D3 or the Durance of Hate in D2.

I agree as well.
The dungeons felt tacked on and had like only 3 types of bosses.
I run only about 6 of them and all I can remember from them is - kill a mob to get the key to open the door or collect 2 mechanical cubes to unlock the passage further.
Another thing that was missing is the little pillar/shrine that would teleport you to the entrance once you’ve killed the boss.
I know it’s only one floor but after doing the same thing over and over again in each dungeon, you still have to run back to entrance cause you are on a quest near by and don’t want to teleport to town. We have it in the first dungeon, right at the start of the game but we don’t later on?
It’s funny, cause you can get back to the same place later on, run through the same dungeon and that rope that teleported you outside is not there anymore…
So, we could use shortcut while doing the quest but can’t use it after finishing dungeon???

You can actually click on the entrance on the map to teleport outside or on the Emote wheel select “Leave Dungeon.”

But I do agree they were very bland and in need of more randomization or changes. But it is a beta so we may get more than that.

HA! I didn’t know you could “leave dungeon” or click on the entrance to get teleported out. My bad then :wink:

But still… Dungeons weren’t very inspiring.
