Necro minions dying like flies (again)

Ah, new expansion. New (old same) issues.

Minions are dyling like flies again, just like when d4 was out the first time.
This is DESPITE going all-out on their survivability.

It also almost seems like they take random damage for no reason?

I should add, this is noticeable after level 40.

Agreed. Can’t do Penitent or you start loosing minions at a higher rate than corpses spawn in the multi-elite fights. Which also always seem to have a few normal mobs that can’t be slowed and come for you despite taunts from minions and/or merc.

With these multi-effect elites stacked together there’s just no place to command your minions and Rahul (SP?) has a tighter leesh, so often runs back to you doing nothing when minions are still fighting.

Full legendary, full minion survivability in skills, I have to invest in some aspects that counter CC and some that enhance minions, but expert is just not worth it. Its overland feels like ploughing through helltide with packed closed together encounters that get merged becaused of agro range, but when bags are full you have 0-3 legendary to show for it, versus 5-10 in helltide.

I’m also playing Summoner Lvl 46 atm so i am not that far yet. Try it with this:

  • Defender skeletons which have 99% reduced damage.
  • Cold mages to slow them down
  • Blood golem to absorb 30% damage

Also your Mercenary:

  • Aldkin with Chain of souls Skill to chain packs of enemies
  • Raheir with Provoke Skill to Taunt the enemies

And try to get skills in gear with damage reduction, or lower the difficulty

So my issue was actually self-inflicted.

I destroyed my upgraded axe and left the old one in, then went to bed. Not realising the next morning, went on levelling. Since the attack power numbers levelling don’t really make sens on the new scale, I didn’t think anything of it. But - a level 22 weapon on a level 45 character is going to give you the above perception of the game.

For reference, you should have around 800-1200 attack power going from 40’s to lower 50’s.
