Necromancer has no mobility

I like Necromancer, but this class sucks without any kind of mobility. Any class has some kind of mobility here, even the druid got a new updated shred with dash.

When I was fighting Ashava with my necro it sucked a lot. No kind of gap closer. Damage was of course bad. Had no problems with my rogue. Could do permanent high damage, also my sorc was fine here. Whats the reason not having a cap closer here?

In D3 we had blood rush as mobility and in D4 we have nothing. Whats the reason behind that decision? I could understand it when Necro would do OP damage, but rogue and sorc are doing much more DPS and have very high mobility here. So that cant be the reason…

I guess you didnt use blood mist eh… I had 0 problems playing necro, not to mention downing Ashava 3 times during beta’s.

Any time Ashava jumped to a location that would require some time to get to, just used blood mist to get me to where I needed to.

I used Dodge and bloodmist. I was able to beat Ashava at tier 2, with just a couple of deaths.

Dodge and if you then need invulnerability while dodge resets, use blood mist.

But ultimately, it’s a character class balance situation. You can’t have powerful summons that peel and spam for you AND excellent mobility.

If you struggle with the playstyle and want mobility, try barbarian or rogue. :+1:

You do realise that not every class is supposed to have the same skillset otherwise what’s the point of different classes?

I believe there was also a devpost/stream somewhere where they mentioned this choice for the Necro.

Also, I believe there ain’t another skill that have invulnerability effect, that doesn’t lock you in one place, like blood mist for Necro.

There is a simple reason in an RPG why classes differ. They have a class background and serve a role.

A necromancer has the great advantage of playing much safer and weakening the enemies via plagues and diseases due to many minions.

Other classes like a rogue are nimble classes. They pick a victim and are strong at one target with high fast damage and then they disappear again as fast as they came. That is the class idea of the rogue in combat.
For that they are defensively weak, with no AE damage, don’t last much and have no selfheal, but rather tricks in store like dazzle vial and marbles on the ground or knockout gas elixirs.

If we lump all classes together, it’s not only not a real RPG game, it’s boring as hell.
In RPGs, classes need depth and a background that they cover. So they need to be very different to stand out and offer a role.
For that you have big advantages and big disadvantages… That’s RPG and that’s what makes it and fun.

If we all just want a comparison, it would be better to change the genre and play car racing.

Even though Necromancer is not the only class with minions, it does have the most minions. It’s fine that Necromancer does have less mobility, it does have a lot of minions that could tank for you.

I would like to see a skill, that minions can use like a sort of taunt. To draw the attention of mobs to them.

At first I had also issue with bosses. But when I look closer in to the abilites, and watch some people who explained everything more in detailed, I could beat the bosses, including Ashava.

I past my build to others, and we could get Ashava down with even 5 Necromancers, 1 mage and 1 barbarian, with 7 minutes remaining on the clock.

I would say that Necromancer is hard to master I quess. The only concern I have is, that we might see the same Necromancer build over and over again in the full game. Since some skills are straightforward useless.
