I did some testing for Lucky Hit (LH) and was wondering if anyone else also did some testing and want to share their results or verify my observations.
The starting point of my testing were some questions:
- Does LH proc from Thorns
- Does LH proc from Minions
- How does LH interact with Decrepefy
- How does LH interact with Iron Maiden
For my tests I used the following LH effects:
- Execute
- 2x Heal
- 2x Resource
- Daze
- Immobilize
And ~20% +LH chance.
Using multiple of the same LH effects seems to stack the numbers but not increase the proc chance (5% 600 heal and 5% 700 heal = 5% 1300 heal).
To verify LH effects work I did some testing with Decompose. The Daze and Immobilize effects trigger combat text so they can be easily observed. The healing and resource gain need a bit of setup but also worked just fine. As a side note: Decompose does not work well with some defensive aspects (20% damage reduction only triggers when channeling starts and armor percent only gives 1 stack that drops and renews every seconds). The chaining Decompose aspect can proc LH on all targets but I don’t think there is any way to tell if every target has its own LH roll or a single roll for all. Not sure there is even any way to find out.
- Thorns on myself: I let a mob hit me for some time. I did not get a LH ever. This does not seem to trigger it at all.
- Thorns on minions: Bit harder to test but also not a single proc.
- Minions attacking mobs: No LH procs. Tested with warriors, reapers, all kinds of different mages and golem.
- The Decrepefy upgrades (Stun and CDR) proc from anything as it seems. Thorns - check, Minions - check. The proc rate is so high my assumption is: There is a typo in the upgrades description. It is not based on LH at all. LH effects are rare. First you need to get a lucky hit and after that another roll for every LH effect. Even something like a 20% Immobilize LH with a skill LH chance of 50% will only trigger like every 10 seconds but the Stun and CDR from Decrepefy procs “all the time”.
- Iron Maiden just like thorns does not proc LH.
