Need advice on HOTA

Hello fellow Barbarians,

I hope you are suffering together with me.

I have been playing this game a lot, not bragging, just an FYI, playing WW Barb has been a blast, even with all the nerfs and s***, maybe some people will disagree, but yeah, personal opinion and tbf I’m a bit exhausted of playing WW, I don’t like other characters and I’ve always been playing Barb when it comes to the Diablo franchise.

The point of this post is that I would like to reroll to HOTA, my gear is not bad for HOTA in my opinion, yes I could fit in a few upgrades, but before I do that I need help. As we all know rerolling in this game is expensive, yes I have a lot of gold since I’ve been grinding like crazy, but that doesn’t mean I wanna throw away 15M gold to try a build and then spend another 15M to get back to my original build. The funny part is I already did this once and failed miserably, managed to hit an 18M crit with HOTA but other than that I played 10 min with it and rerolled back to WW.

I would like an explanation of how HOTA works, if someone can explain the gameplay style, how do you manage to hit those big crits and stuff like that, other than that I’m also open to suggestions of different HOTA builds except Rob’s since I can see that his is min max NM pushing which I won’t be doing, I’ll probably go for 80+ NM dungeons and that will be it, I have no intention of getting achievments or titles, I just want something more challenging to do in the game rn and unfortunately, that is not possible with WW.

Get paragon points in MAX Fury, as the more Fury the higher % modifier.
Use shouts to keep fury maxed out, left click a mob to make him vulnerable with the Paragon Yellow Socket associated to that.

Then Right click HOTA to crush your main target (elite). All his damage will then be AOE’d aroung due to the legendaty effect. Because you kill a lot of small mobs you regain a lot of Fury (Also something you can pick on the paragon board) and are max Fury again.

Try and drag 3-4 packs together for maximum effect.
Rince and repeat.

I played WW, was tired of it, swapped HOTA. Did a lot more damage, but after a week I’m tired of it again, so going back to WW later this week.
