Nice game... but

All in all it’s a good game…
if only it weren’t called “Diablo”.

When I hear “Diablo” I immediately think:

  • hack and slash
  • blood and gore
  • Elite-Monsters with funny names
  • slicing through tons of demons without having to think about it much
  • no stratigising
  • just a fun game to relax after a hard day at work
  • ( and of course Deckard “stay a while and listen” Cain - may he rest in piece)

Diablo IV gives me none of that.
It’s like buying a box of Oreos and when you open it you just get regular cookies - like oatmeal and without the filling. You expect one thing (and you’re psyched about it) and get something entirely different - just disappointing.

“after more then 20 years a change need i guess.”

yes… thats the reason ppl still play D2 even after 20 years… becous it needs change?..
change is good if its for a better experience… D3/DI had alot of change but not for the better…

“no stratigising”
That point is only true for D3.

if ppl dont like changes and would like to be stuck in 2000 they still can play D2.

If you dont have any strategy on D1 you ll be flooded by mobs in no time. You have to use doors to block monsters… I think you have to think how to fight even harder than in D2 where you can run if you are in a tight spot.

The entire open world, multi city, with respawning mobs, on a preset map, is not Diablo. I didn’t feel once like i did playing any of the other series. Decent game, had some fun, but not Diablo.

The first time you run out of the city gates should be a feeling like none other, not knowing where the next dungeon or zoneline is.

I really wanna know what strategies everyone is always brainstorming with Diablo games. Mine has been exactly the same in all of them, fight things and back up if getting overwhelmed.

The change, if there is , will never allowed or liked by all, what ever we are talking about.
In this case of blizzard / diablo story for my mind since first edition till recently 4 ,if the story is connected somehow, but each edition environment’s, gameplay is different ( for some good / bad , improved / got worse ) is ok .

Play at diablo 1 / 2-2 lod / 3 / 4 same way where is the fun ?

Seems you love diablo 2. Then… play diablo 2  what are you waiting for? :o

Another d2 game is not needed.

You go on and play d2 as much as you like, leave d4 and style of it to those who actually enjoy it.

Literally the most simple solution.

‘‘Lets ruin every game by turning them into games i like, who cares about other people’’

Entitlement some people feel is surreal.

i agree don’t forget we also do not need a diablo 3. So what have we learn today? We want not diablo we want a new game. You are forgetting something here. Where is diablo from? What do people like? And why is a 20 year game still going strong? You guess it. Its simple the best version. And why is that? Because its classic or its just that good? Also you learn that today its just a great game. And no we do not want a D3 clone or simple put a world of Warcraft game in diablo series. Thats what Diablo 3 already is and if you want that go play it nobody is stopping you. And you already notice this game is not a D3 but more a D2 game. With allot of elements from D3. And thats a good thing. Many things are good from D3 but not the end game and thats far from it. And 1 set of armor and 2 things you can do in end game is a no no zone with ridicules damage output. And if you want to change you do sh*t damage because of that 1 thing. Thats not diablo thats world of warcraft already is. Also we do not want level 100 to be in a hour of 4. Thats not Diablo. Thats again a world of warcraft thing.

if you dont like changes, noone is stopping you from playing D2 for the next 40 years…

if you actually READ my post you would know that im not against change… but change for the sake of change is stupid…

I think d4 should have the second skill bar like d2 resurrected. Thats gives players more options. And I really don’t like druid skill tree, i think in druid case we should have separate skill tree for shapeshift. With only 6 skills, the game is very limiting, especially if new skills are discovered not with the level but with the amount of points spent. In D3 we had runes that not only changed the damage but also the appearance of the abilities and that would be nice too.

Why buy a new game if you want to play the same as always? Makes no sense… if you want the same thing keep playing diablo 2 lol.

Then keep playing D2 if no change is needed…
