Notes:

  • Tal Rasha heart was bugged and gave additive not multiplicative damage, this has been fixed so the build is now stronger than ever!
  • 6/7 glyphs used all level 21. Tactician OR Territorial on the 7th board. Territorial gives 15% (buffed by 5% in 1.1.1) close damage reduction but additive damage so would do a lot less than Tactician (x10% dmg).
  • Static Surge does not affect your mana sustain with the use of a +3.0 (max) Recharging aspect + perma Unleash.
  • Unleash glyph over Enchanter. x6.7% multiplicative dmg over Enchanter’s additive dmg and frees up more nodes so we can get even tankier! Unleash procs every 2 CLs (about 28 mana each with 30% mana cost red). The x6.7% mana regen is why we can drop Static Surge, is nice with Recharging aspect bounces and scales with your willpower.
  • Lightning Spear is used for the free 2s stuns, nice with Control glyph, Everliving aspect and for general survivability vs non-bosses. Note: bosses can’t be stunned. Another option is 3/3 in Convulsions if you ceebs casting LS, I use AutoHotkey. LS has a small cast delay which could edited by moderation
  • Life on kill on helm/focus are personal pref, could go armor % on helm or dmg red on focus. 100% flexible. You have no sustain outside of pot.
  • 20/20 paragon renown used.
  • Level 5 3.1s Barber, level 4 19.5% Revenge & 11.8%/8s Tal Rasha hearts used. Go 3.0s - 3.2s max Barber, 3.0s being ideal. Yet to drop a 4.0s Barber to test.
  • Your evade charges are actual Teleports in random directions which proc your Protection/Shimmering Teleport (30% dmg red/30% hp shield) but does not proc Prodigy aspect (+mana on cd use). Doesn’t count as a “cooldown”.
  • Protection barrier doesn’t stack.
  • Using the new Mage-Lord’s aspect. Get 9% dmg red per close enemy up to 27% if 3 enemies are close.
  • May need + all stats instead of life on kill on totem or max life on chest/pants if you can’t reach rare paragon board node requirements. You can also move some willpower to int etc. nodes around based on your stats.
  • Dropped ult as not using Overflowing Energy anymore to reduce cooldowns, using the buffed Vyr’s Mastery. Went from “Close enemies take 10% increased damage from Shock Skills and deal 20% less damage to you. Critical Strikes increase these bonuses by 25% for 3 seconds.” to “Close enemies take 15% increased damage from Shock Skills and deal 20% less damage to you. Critical Strikes increase these bonuses by 25% for 3 seconds.”

1.1.1 changes that affect the build:
Greater Chain Lightning

  • Each time Chain Lightning bounces, it deals 5% increased damage for its duration.
    Aspect of Unbroken Tether
  • Additional Chain Lightning bounces increased from 2 to 4.
    These two buffs will be insane for Barber and as chain lightning can still bounce through you (base spell effect), will increase single target damage too.
    Recharging Aspect
  • Each time Chain Lightning bounces, you gain 1.5-3 Mana. Better than Prodigy?
    Aspect of Frozen Orbit
  • Damage increased from 20-30% to 30-40%.
    Oppressive Rare Node
  • Damage red from Vulnerable enemies increased from 4% to 5%
    Smoldering Embers Rare Node
  • Damage red from burning enemies increased from 4% to 5%.
  • Bonus damage redfrom burning enemies increased from 4% to 5%.

Why Oculus over a 2h staff?

  • Use with Tactician glyph, x10% damage for 4s after a defensive skill is used.
  • Insane mobility on a base 4-5s cooldown.
  • 30% dmg red off Shimmering Teleport and 30% max life shield off Protection for 3s which also works with every evade tp.
  • More frequent unstoppable. Rotate with Flame Shield to break all crowd control.
  • High + ranks paired with Revenge heart explosions, which procs every Teleport, adds free damage to Barber.
  • Faster attacks per second, 1.20 vs 1.00. When used with Accelerating aspect, damage becomes comparable especially with a 4s Barber.
  • Higher base crit, cooldown and mana cost red due to use of a focus.
  • As a melee build, Teleport being up frequently means we can reposition faster ontop of enemies to apply chill for Penitent Greaves and Hoarfrost. Bosses can be chilled. Frozen also counts as a chill vs non-bosses.
  • Zoomies in town as Penitent Greaves gives movement speed on evade and Oculus gives +4 evade charges.
