Over and over again

Fellows,

Dont you have same impression , that we face the same scheme over and over again for many years?

From the time that “old Blizzard” left the company it’s always like the same rules:

  1. Anonuce the game about 2-3 years before you are planning to release.
  2. Make tremendous amount of hype, tell the people you understand what they need and want to
  3. Release the game, earn millions of dollars
  4. Start to make crappy in-game fails with bots, unwanted drops, exploits etc.

Never ending story… (?)

Nope. Not the case here.

It’s an awesome single player game in its own right and then on top of that a great end-game.

No softcore casual trading, no zoom n loot brain dead gameplay.

It’s a well rounded experience and we haven’t even got the 1st season yet.

It’s like you haven’t paid attention at all.

I agree with OP.

It’s shallow, tedious, unrewarding, gated … and yes all propped up by hype.

I’m beginning to realize that Blizz make the game for the 1%'ers, the sub-industry of social media/youtube influencers and content creators who essentially promote the game for them. When the metrics show the current ‘content’ is dropping in popularity Blizz release another titbit of ‘content’ and start the process all over again. The youtubers won’t bite the hand that feeds them so criticism will be at a minimum and so the monopoly grows.

For such a smart guy NID you seem to have your eyes firmly closed.

How can you not see that, outside of the campaign which was decent if not a little predictable the rest of the game is a copy and pasted mess? Very strange indeed.

Your defence of this game is admirable as is your coverage of critical posts and although I want to say the game is great, largely because of my loyalty (like you) to the brand/franchise, it’s really not.

Nearly all of my friends have stopped playing around mid-50s and they’ve all quoted the same issues (I could list them if you like in another post but I don’t see the point at this stage - just check the forums). These are hardcore fans/players, who like me love Diablo. So this is just a massive coincidence? Come on man.

Theres no interesting things to loot theres no trading.

If you dont have trading you CANT have extremely rare items. If you DONT have trading, the items need to drop to the players and that makes the game last like 2-3 weeks until all are geared…

Trading made RIGHT is the key…

I have been playing this genre of game as my favourite type since the day it was invented.

The combat is fun, the builds are varied, the story is excellent, the longevity is in being able to complete the game multiple times always in a different way.

Nothing to do with anything else other than you either like ARPGs or you were not listening to what every actual arpg fan was saying and you purchased what you had hoped was a MMORPG.

So if intelligence was a metric, pretty sure the person who bought the game, that is not their ideal game, is the one falling short.

:+1:

ARPG are way more than fluid combat or a builds that you like to tests. Its about loot loot and more loot. Theres nothing interesting to loot in d4 at the moment.

Also trading needs to be solved.

It’s an exploit, and it works. Let me explain how I see it. There is no collective human knowledge transferred from generation to generation. Every new person goes through a learning curve and eventually arrives at similar conclusions over time, all things considered. By the time you gain that knowledge, you’ve likely already purchased many products. Can you judge someone going through their first or second iteration for not thinking the same way as you do today? Of course not. So, the system works as intended. Kudos to you for trying to spread the word, but your efforts are futile. There is no one listening; they are having fun, and perhaps that’s okay. What’s left for you? Well, you’ve discovered something that no longer works for you. Did you have a good time until you reached that conclusion? You did. It’s time to move on.

It never changes, because they don’t listen to the people. They don’t do the right things. They tolerate exploits. They don’t do enough testing. They just care about the money, by the looks of it.

But let me tell the most important thing about all this.
It won’t ever change, because people keep playing the game and support crap, they don’t enjoy, because they’re addicts. As soon as we have a game that is at least as good, as this one and has better support, Blizzard will lose. I can’t wait to see what’s gonna happen when POE2 is released.

It never changes because it works and will continue working. Don’t stress, play something else.

It wouldn’t work, if people would actually care about the game. Because if you care, you let go. Because just then they realise, how bad it is and will try to change it.

Trading needs to be ignored.

You can’t say you want to grind for “loot loot loot” then play Diablo eBay.

I’m loving the loot finds.

Telling all y’all, copying other people’s homework is what is making y’all sad, not the game. :+1:

Yes, we are all here collectively sharing our thoughts on a game… Because… As you astutely surmise, “nobody cares about the game”

Just checked and diablo 4 daily concurrent player has climbed over the last 4 weeks on average, 2.5% each week.

From 2.6M to 2.8M players daily.

So, firm no, bro. :+1:

I had this feeling with other games lately released from blizzard (activision), but holy fuck diablo 4 made that realization real. The game is so boring i could rip my eyes out and be more entertained.

Last blizzard game ill ever buy, if its isnt a remake of an old classic. D2R was really good, but thats about it. overwatch, lul.

are you effing simple!?!? I said it NEEDS to be solved. No one wants to have DJSP things. Jesus feels like im talking to the walking dead zombies here.¨

Trading needs to be NPC made feature with limited access or suply.

The fact is that trading via other players makes the game more social. D4 REALLY needs that, and if u are going to have items in the game rarer than a fcking Zod rune in D2 (u will probably never find a zod rune) BUT U CAN TRADE FOR IT WITH OTHER STUFF U HAVE… u have to have trading.

people playing diablo 4 seems dense af

Indeed. This I have been saying now some times.

Trading problems need to be solved though but thats excacly some new innovations I hoped to get from 100 euros games…

Wow. 2.8million players daily, of the around 8million+ who purchased the game. Most people have quit already.

It’s all your fault if you let them hype you
weak minded people often have this problem to believe everything they hear and saw
everyone with a little bit of critical thinking knows that this game is not THE BEST GAME UNDER THE SUN and can’t compete with well established game like POE when it comes to endgame.

It is no way near 1/10 game
it is above average for what it is something like 7/10
and in time it is going to be 8/9 out of 10

we have proof in diablo 3
Last 3 years of diablo 3 were the greatest with interesting seasons and changes.

But hey i learned in life very simple thing

People will always see what they want

Most proper players prefer to find their own gear. To be fair.

nah. I actually enjoy finding some and also trade some. With trading also you could enable other class items to drop, so I you get really good necro item while playing barb, you could think that maybe you want to try necro out.

Without trading innovations, items are too easy to find and that leads to the D3 problem where players had everything ready in 2 weeks of the season. Its also one dimension, adding way to NPC trader add another dimension to the gameplay.
