I know what your saying but my cpu never had a heat issue untill D4, my cpu is stable in every single other use case and i just cleaned my PC 4 days
Its a 2700x and should be more than enough cpu to play on medium lol
I have a 3700x, overclocked to 4.4 on all cores and donât see above 60 degrees on the CPU on high with all additional graphical bells and whistles, I have a an aftermarket cooler with a push and pull fan configuration, no way would I attempt that with stock cooling!
If your CPU is overheating there is an issue, whether you wanna see it ot not.
A stock cooler is a bare minimum, especially when summer comes around.
Even if you had the latest and fastest CPU on the market, if the cooling isnât enough then itâs gonna give you crashes and shutdowns under high load.
Just know that over time your CPU may even get damaged.
Iâve had the same issue, though I only recently realized it. Iâd been playing the betas, and had no issue, but once I started playing the early access I noticed my pc had turned into a space heater. I mean the thing was so hot to be around. Initially, I assumed it was just time to dust my pc and make sure all my fans were running properly, which did nothing to lower the heat output. I still didnât think it had anything to do with D4 until I decided not to play today and test out other games like cyberpunk and warzone off a fresh boot. My pc has not ran hot at all today. I donât have any concrete evidence to prove the issue is D4, but I will say my pc has ran hotter after only playing D4
Solved it for geforce.
- Nvidia control panel
- Manage 3d settings
- Program settings
- Choose Diablo 4 (diablo iv.exe)
- Low latency mode
Set it to âOFFâ
I have the same problem with D4, as have many according to the internet. People like FastTrakz try to be helpful, but are like âthe problem doesnât happen to me, so its not happeningâ, and are in fact inadvertently gaslighting folks any problem would have to be on their end, not with the game, instead of doing a internet research to see if this is an isolated incident or not.
Thank you Colagin, I will try and see if setting Low latency mode to OFF helps me too, and edit my post accordingly.
Edit: after 2h of playing D4 I think the problem is solved for me, too.
Low Latency was already set to OFF, so I tinkered with the D4 settings, for me the ingame setting âLow FXâ under Graphics seems to have done the trick. Since activating that, GPU temperature stays low.
Edit 2: no, the problem is not solved, it happens to now when I am browsing at a vendor or through my stash.
Iâm not gaslighting anyone, I absolutely believe its happening, not once have I said itâs not, but some people in this thread need to learn the difference between âoverheatingâ on chips that are rated for 105 degrees before its a critical issue and running hot compared to older games. There is a very large difference in the meanings.
PS. The game runs hotter than most games for me also, however itâs not at a level I deem to be a major cause for concern, however I understand there are people in the thread with overclockable chips on stock cooling, even the chip manufacturers recommend aftermarket cooling if youâre going to be putting a decent load on it.
Greetings!
My computer restarts while playing Diablo 4. The restart can happen at any time, either right after launch or after several hours of playing. During early testing of the game, there was no such problem. In all other games, the system works stably. It could also be an overheating issue - the temperature of GPU & CPU is around 80+ degrees
My setup:
- i9 - 10900F
- 32GB DDR4
- RTX 3080
There seems to be a more specific issue with CPU temperature fluctuations in the game. I didnât notice there was already a thread about this on the EU forums, so I made my own (which will probably be deleted now, because you know, duplicates) where I tried to give some more insight into the issue.
Nevertheless, I just wanted to add that Iâm also having a problem with temperatures on my Ryzen 7 5800X. My temperatures are otherwise fine (in the 60°C to 70°C range) but occasionally theyâll spike up to around 85°C for a few seconds, which makes my computer fans go mental.
Makes playing the game a bit stressful when I have to be constantly monitoring my CPU temperatures to make sure my computer doesnât fry itself.
Any news about a fix?
My 3900 is overheating and Iâm sweating (not exaggerating), it wasnât doing this during beta.
You are wrong but thatâs Your problem Mr. Damage Control. Next time think slowly instead of Fast and out of Track
This thread is showing You that, this problem is serious and software based. If Diablo 4 is the only game causing damage to hardware by generating constant power spikes which is not normal envoirment for electronic parts then it is obvious.
Whatâs obvious is who ever taught you to speak and/or write in English has failed you big time.
Let me know how you get on with your legal action against Blizzard Entertainment
Edit: Make sure you get someone else to write the action, anyone else.
Can people please stop responding to me like Iâm the one personally standing over their CPU with a blowtorch. Appreciated thanks
I have checked what i wrote i made some adjusments so thanks but everything was mostly correct. If u had problem with understood then maybe once again try thinking Slowly Mr. Out of Track.

âCan people please stop responding to meâ
There is easy solution.
Stop answering them.
Keep Your frustration away
You seem to think youâre funny. itâs an actual shame. I normally donât single out those with special needs or learning difficulties, but then again people normally donât always take my input so personally when itâs clearly not intended to offend them.
The game does indeed have problems with heating for some, but from a google search here and there, it seems to not target specific cards/models.
I havent found out if there is any specific driver yet, but out of 5 people that we play, 2 of us have this issue. Mine goes around 95, then frames start dipping for a bit, before the game crashes. My problems started ever since their latest update.
I also play from 2 different setups, and the lower-end, altho it gets hot, it never overheats that the frames will start dipping, leading to a crash, like my high-end build does.
So this started personally for me and a friend, ever since their latest update. Not sure if we are going to have to wait for a Blizzard patch, or a new Nvidia driver.
Has been like that for me since day one, using the latest Nvidia driver.
I donât think itâs driver related or does it not cause the same issues with AMD GPUs?
To clarify, the game does run hot anyway, it was always hot. What i meant is, the crashes began after the last patch.
I have Radeon card and Iâve yet to encounter a single crash. No PC crash, reboot, shutdown, freeze, no game crash, fenris debug or whatever that is, Iâve never received an error code, nothing.
I knows some people report overheating in both CPU and GPU, nVidia and Radeon, but this is their hardware struggling to handle demanding load, not a problem with any particular game.
