Since launch my game has had a persistant shop notification icon whenever Im on the game menu or when I click on Tab for the map. I’ve wasted so much time visiting to see if there’s actually anything new, and 99% of the time there isn’t. Why is something as simple as this not fixed? Ive been through all items and looked at everything to try to make it go away but its still there.
yea, same. good thing u confirm it’s a bug, i just assumed i hadn’t checked everything. like that i had to hover every single item. and maybe u haven’t though? like not every item in the entire pool, only all items you have seen. maybe u r missing one or two sets? … stupid system. i also get annoyed by notifications because then i think about it and… that’s what they like me to do: think about the shop. but since it never goes away it only makes me think about it and then i have to ignore it because it doesn’t mean anything: the shop may or may not have new items, the indicator tells me nothing. that’s why it’s annoying also, it says nothing and yet claims my attention.
It’s not a bug, its intentional.
There are a certain set of scummy practices that infest this game. Having the constant shop icon is just one of the lesser ones. It is there so every time you logon you see it and think there is new stuff or freebies in the shop getting you to visit the shop.
Its not as bad as the consumer punishing cash shop but still a way to just milk more money from their player base.
If only Blizzard had a dedicated ideas page, I’m sure that there are better ways to do things that benefit both company and players.

Aye It makes it hard to know “if” there really is something new on the shop.
Well it looks like Europe is taking action on premium currencies and the bad practices they involve.
About flippin’ time.
They did the same thing with loot boxes, and look what happened to Overwatch, it only got worse.
They are already talking about replacing the battlepass monetization model, because its “outdated” wich really means they found a more profitable model.
