As the title says. I think this mechanic is so bad and unfun, its actually bad for the game. As soon as I am in a dungeon and see that I need to kill all enemies I think about never going to that dungeon again. I know that in both betas it was also a widely given feedback that this mechanic is bad and at least needs a redesign.

Diablo is about roasting evil. Why even care if you have to run around finding some cubes to place them on a pillar or collecting some energy to feed a fountain or to - just and simply - stomp everything moving around.
have you done that conclave dungeon where you have to kill everything and there are those stupid mobs that when you kill them they spawn more mobs…its amazingly frustrating…try it for yourself
I’ve done all of them, and I am full of joy if there’s nothing else on the screen than a tsunami of enemies and the incredibly enjoyable blobb afterwards if all popps at once. In Diablo, there can never be enough enemies.

I actually started making one when I farmed my renown, so that I never have to step a foot in them again and can salvage keys for them instantly. I think it’s not complete, because I started the list pretty late, but enjoy:

The other Diablo games did just fine without them. After 100+ dungeons they really aren’t that fun anymore. I just wan’t to clear a high density dungeon with a boss at the end.
It’s one of the best objectives when farming, you don’t kill all, you nuke rares and move on, stragglers are periodically teleported to you in form of ambush, it’s best objective ever. Also reason why Ruins of Eridru were the best farm.
The kill all enemies is still the best of all the objectives.
I dont mind the kill all enemies, but only if you could run up to the door and then all unkilled enemies would teleport to you. This might be a tough fight, depending on how what dungeon you are running (normal or NMD).
Actually for it to be 10 minute walk,it would mean dungeon map is big as 3 of the open world zones combined.
If you forgot mob at the start,you can also leave dung and enter again = less walking.
That doesn’t happen every time.
I dont know if them not coming to you its a bug or them spawning on top of you is.
i dont mean the implemented mechanics. I mean you walk up to the door and trigger the teleport of all monsters.
regarding the question if its a bug or intended. I think its a bug, that adds some fun. In my experience, the enemies that spawn on you, are additional enemies and not taken from the map. (but also dont seem to count towards the rest amount of enemies. I had 4 left, 15 enemies spawned with at least 2 elites. The number stayed at 4 and the level was complete before the remaining spawned ones were killed.)
