PocLum: Spend 5% primary resource, gain 3,5 resource.
When I cast Ball Lightning (50 mana cost which is 50% of my resource) I should get 35 mana back per cast immediately. I assume I only get 3,5 mana back because apparently Lum only returns its base value once per cast which makes this rune completely useless.
Math for those that are not mathing:
50% / 5% = 10
10 * 3,5 = 35
There are a lot of things in the game that make you wonder whether they actually work or not. There’s nothing you can really do about it—you just have to wait for a patch and hope they’ll fix it.
Yeah, maybe in next $70 expansion.
It’s possible that a patch might be released either this evening or on Monday to fix some of the issues that can be resolved quickly. If they’re aware of the problem, that is. If not, they’ll probably need to investigate first and then work on a fix.
did you take into account that Lum has a 1s internal cooldown?
If you cast 2-4 times per second you will only get 35 back.
It desn’t say anywhere on the rune. So the rune is useless by design.
It literally says “cooldown: 1s” in the tooltip of the rune. Its not useless, it just doesn’t instantly solve all the resource issues in your use-case (which, tbh, would have been too easy).

This rune would only be useful in mid game since in the endgame there are no issues with resource. I double checked and nowhere does it say 1 s cooldown.
Tooltip of the rune:
1st row: “Requires: 5 offering”
2nd row: “Cooldown: 1s”
It is a magic rune and it is not meant to solve all your resource issues before you even reached endgame, but it can be very powerful when combined with resource generation. Even if only your 2nd or 3rd cast is free, its still a reasonable buff.
